Dong Trieu: Strengthening Party building and rectification work

Inheriting the achievements in Party building and rectification work of recent terms, in the first half of the term implementing the Resolution of the 25th Town Party Congress, term 2020-2025, Party building and rectification work continued to receive special attention and effective direction from Dong Trieu.

Since the beginning of the term, the Standing Committee of Dong Trieu Town Party Committee has directed and successfully implemented the model of Party Secretary concurrently being Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level in 20/21 communes and wards; implementing the policy of Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level not being local people in 8/21 communes and wards.

At the same time, reorganize a number of pilot models according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee and Resolution No. 19-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee for specialized agencies assisting the Town Party Committee, specialized departments under the Town People's Committee, creating unity and synchronization in the organizational model and apparatus of agencies and units at the district level nationwide, unifying the connection of vertical agencies between the provincial and district levels; completing the arrangement and merger of 6 villages and neighborhoods in the communes and wards: An Sinh, Hoang Que, Binh Khe. After the merger, the whole town will have 162 villages and neighborhoods (reduced by 5 villages and neighborhoods).

Dong Trieu Town Party Committee regularly directs the consolidation, construction and development of grassroots party organizations and party members, promptly perfecting party organizations after rearranging the operational models of agencies, units and localities; establishing 13 party cells and completing the establishment of commune and ward police party cells. Up to now, the town Party Committee has 50 branches and affiliated party committees, 391 party cells affiliated to grassroots party committees, with a total of 9,828 party members.

The work of cadres continues to be given more importance and importance, with its position and role as "the key of the key" to enhance the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party. In particular, priority is given to the work of cadre planning to ensure compliance with the prescribed steps and procedures; to innovate the work of appointing cadres, training and fostering cadres to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation. Over the past 2 years, Dong Trieu Town has planned 2,563 cadres under the management of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; completed the review and supplementation of the cadre planning for the 2020-2025 (2021-2026) term and developed the cadre planning for the 2025-2030 (2026-2031) term; appointed and reappointed 145 comrades, and transferred 105 cadres to different positions.

In training and fostering, the town organized 2 training courses on political theory and professional work of the front; 9 training courses on political theory and professional work for union members, veterans, and youth union members; organized 23 integrated training courses on patriotism and 19 integrated training courses on revolutionary ethics education for hundreds of cadres and party members.

Dong Trieu Town Party Committee was awarded First Prize in the contest "Learning and Following Uncle Ho" organized by the province.

One of the clear marks of the Party building and rectification work in the Dong Trieu Town Party Committee since the beginning of the term is the smooth implementation of "building" and "fighting". The City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee have carried out 5 direct inspections of 65 Party organizations and 33 Party members; and 7 direct supervisions of 56 Party organizations and 10 Party members. The City Party Committee has strengthened regular supervision of grassroots Party committees, heads of Party committees, local authorities, agencies and units; and well implemented self-inspections, supervisions and reviews under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Party building committees of the Provincial Party Committee.

The work of enforcing Party discipline has been seriously implemented according to regulations; synchronously considering and handling Party discipline and administrative discipline, ensuring strictness and timeliness, overcoming the situation of being considerate, evasive, and afraid of collision in inspection, examination, supervision, and enforcing Party discipline and administrative discipline. In particular, the Party Committee of the town has directed the strict handling of cadres and Party members who have degraded in ideology, politics, ethics, lifestyle, and have shown signs of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation". Since the beginning of the term, the Party Committee of the town has had 6 Party organizations disciplined and 94 Party members and 31 Party Committee members at all levels have been disciplined.

The outstanding achievements in Party building and rectification work over the past half of the term have significantly contributed to the Dong Trieu Town Party Committee's excellent completion of the Party building targets set out in the Resolution of the Town Party Congress. In particular, the rate of Party organizations meeting the standards for completing their annual tasks well reached 95% or more, of which the rate of excellent task completion reached 20%; the rate of Party members completing their annual tasks well reached 80% or more, the number of Party members completing their tasks well or better always reached over 80%, achieving the target set out in the resolution. Since the beginning of the term, the town has admitted 859 outstanding people to the Party (exceeding the target set out in the resolution), the number of new Party members admitted every year has always reached 3% or more compared to the number of Party members at the beginning of the year.

The achieved results have created an important premise for Dong Trieu town to continue to successfully carry out the task of socio-economic development and improve the quality of people's lives.
