The Ring Road V project has a total capital of nearly 700 billion VND, invested by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, and will be implemented from 2021.
The route has a total length of 6.68km, an average road width of 22.5m, connecting Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang provinces. This is a section of the more than 330km long route passing through 8 localities with a total investment of 86,000 billion VND.

On April 17, according to Lao Dong Newspaper, after more than 3 years of implementation, the Ring Road V project has basically been completed.
At the starting point of the project in Huong Son commune (Phu Binh), workers and machines were mobilized to carry out compaction, paving, construction of sidewalk items and some other auxiliary items.
Currently, most of the road surface of the route has been paved with asphalt. Some hard bridges have also been completed, replacing small and narrow sections and routes, making it easy for people and vehicles to travel.
Project progress report, as of April 10, 2025, the roadbed construction progress reached 100% of the volume; crushed stone roadbed reached 92% of the volume; asphalt concrete road surface reached 70.4% of the volume.

The drainage system has reached 100% of its volume. On this route, there are 2 bridges, the Main Canal Bridge and the Troi Canal Bridge, with 100% of their volume of construction.
According to information from the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agriculture Works - the investor, the project is speeding up the progress of completing the final stages to inaugurate the road before April 30, 2025.
Additional items of the Project such as the lighting system for the entire route and the expansion and adjustment of some intersections with district roads will be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
When completed, the project will connect the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway with National Highway 37 and Bac Giang province. At the same time, it will link the Yen Binh Complex, Phu Binh district with Bac Giang province, thereby helping to promote the socio-economic development of the region.

The V-Road Project is over 330km long, passing through 36 districts, towns and cities of Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Ha Nam, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen and Vinh Phuc.
In the 2021-2025 period, this route will be a 4-lane grade II road and a 6-lane urban road. In the following period, when there are sufficient investment resources and transportation needs, Ring Road V will be invested in a 6-lane highway scale by building an elevated highway or a regular road.
