A working delegation of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association led by Mr. Le Minh Son - Vice President of the Association has just come to survey and evaluate to vote and re-recognize typical tourist destinations of the Mekong Delta in 2025.
The delegation visited the Memorial Site of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung; Memorial Site of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet; and the Mausoleum of the former Commander-in-Chief Nguyen Van Ton.
Through the survey of the sites, Mr. Le Minh Son highly appreciated the efforts of the local government and the Vinh Long tourism industry in investing in spacious cultural-historical relics such as the new investment in "Mr. Sau Dan's Garden"; investing more than 13 billion VND to create landscapes, trees, miniatures, and spacious Memorial Area of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung. The survey team will report and propose to the Council of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association to re-recognize the surveyed sites as "Typical tourist sites of the Mekong Delta 2025".
Last year, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association organized a survey team to assess 10 destinations in 6 provinces/cities including An Giang, Can Tho, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh. As a result, 9 new tourist destinations were recognized, 1 tourist destination was re-recognized, bringing the total number of typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta in 2024 to 62.
