Project on Developing Smart Agricultural Value Chains Adapting to Climate Change in Ben Tre

Specifically, in coordination with the Center for Seedlings and Ornamental Flowers, 3 training courses on planting techniques, care and instructions on effective exploitation of grafted buds for certified parent gardens were organized for 104 participants.

The training course aims to ensure that over 70% of seedlings are produced from qualified parent orchards by equipping farmers with technical knowledge on planting and caring for parent trees and parent orchards in a scientific , effective and sustainable manner. Instructions on how to exploit grafted buds properly will create high results and safety for parent trees, ensuring a high survival rate when grafting and not causing exhaustion to the mother tree.

Coordinate with the Cooperative Alliance (Cooperatives) to organize capacity building training for women and youth with the theme of disseminating the Law on Cooperatives 2023, in conjunction with providing guidance to Women's Union officials at all levels in implementing the Project "Supporting cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers by 2030". The training course had 172 public sector officials participating.

Through the training course, it has contributed to helping officials of the Women's Union at all levels grasp the Law on Cooperatives in 2023 in conjunction with fostering knowledge about collective economy , policies, orientations, goals, and policies of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on innovation and effective development of cooperatives; creating consensus and enhancing the responsibility of functional agencies and organizations at all levels for the task of developing collective economy and the activities of cooperatives in Ben Tre province.

In addition, creating synchronization and close connection between relevant units and female cadres at all levels in the work of coordination and support for the development of collective economy, cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers, contributing to promoting internal strength, cooperative spirit, creative entrepreneurship of members and women to achieve the goals of socio-economic development, international integration and gender equality.

Organized 2 training courses on circular economy in agriculture and smart agriculture adapting to climate change for agricultural cooperatives participating in the province's key agricultural product value chain with 60 participants.

The training course has contributed to raising awareness of circular agriculture to promote the application of circular agriculture and climate change adaptation agricultural models in agricultural production in cooperatives in Ben Tre province. Thereby creating conditions for agricultural cooperatives to have an orientation to build circular agriculture models and smart agriculture adapting to climate change in the coming time.

Coordinated with the Farmers' Association to organize 5 training courses on organic coconut growing and production techniques associated with building planting area codes , pest prevention techniques and coping with drought and salinity in climate change conditions with 220 participants.

The training course has equipped farmers, cooperative members and cooperatives with knowledge and skills to produce coconut in an organic direction, associated with building planting area codes, ways to identify and prevent pests, and care for coconut gardens in the context of climate change, contributing to supporting actors participating in the value chain to improve production efficiency, share responsibilities and harmonize the interests of all parties.

Organized 139 science and technology transfer classes on rice, safe vegetables, disease prevention on vegetables, VietGap, breeding cows, fertilizer and pesticide management for 4,017 participants.

Organize 9 training courses to improve knowledge and skills for good farmers and businessmen in 2025 with 450 participants.

Coordinated with the Women's Union to organize 8 training courses on business production planning for beneficiary groups in communes implementing CSAT Project activities with 432 participants.

The training course has contributed to helping women and young people improve their capacity to plan effective, sustainable and practical business production, update their knowledge through the process of participating in building and implementing local value chain development plans, thereby improving management and control of investment capital for the right purpose and effectively.

Organized 8 workshops to disseminate policies to support credit access for beneficiary groups in communes implementing CSAT Project activities with 734 participants.

The workshop aims to promote and disseminate credit policies serving the development of agricultural value chains for women and youth to access in accordance with their needs for loans for production, increase income and contribute to the development of value chains in the area, thereby improving the capacity to use financial resources for investment purposes properly and effectively.

The project coordinated with the Cooperative Alliance to organize a dialogue conference between provincial leaders and agricultural cooperatives participating in the coconut value chain in Ben Tre province, with 163 delegates attending . Through this, the province grasped the needs and situations of cooperatives to have a better direction for chain development.
