Many hotels in Hanoi have achieved room occupancy rates of over 90%.
Special tourism products
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the number of hotel bookings for this year’s holiday has increased by 40-50% compared to the same period last year. Small and medium-sized hotels and homestays in central areas such as Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, and Hai Ba Trung were fully booked early, while some high-end hotels also recorded record room occupancy rates.
Not only domestic tourists, the number of overseas Vietnamese and international tourists has also increased sharply. Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Travel Service Company Limited Doan Thi Thanh Tra said: "The attraction from the parade and marching events has made us expand our plan to receive guests, in which the number of overseas Vietnamese returning to the country to register for tours to the capital and the northern provinces has increased dramatically."
Data from Agoda also shows that Hanoi leads the country in the number of accommodation searches for September 2, up more than 44 times compared to 2024. Many hotels in the center have reported "full rooms" for the period from August 30 to September 3.
Residents and tourists will have the opportunity to experience heritage in new ways, businesses will develop sustainably with the locality, and the city will promote a civilized, elegant, modern image imbued with the identity of Thang Long - Hanoi.
– Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang
To meet the needs of tourists, Hanoi and travel agencies have launched a series of new products. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has opened many tourist attractions for free from September 1-3, such as the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the National Museum of History, the Museum of Fine Arts, etc., along with thematic exhibitions such as “Independence Autumn”, “Education for the People – Lighting the Future”, and “Children of the Fatherland”.
In addition, night tours continue to be a “specialty” attracting visitors. The “Discovering Thang Long Imperial Citadel” tour still maintains its schedule, while the “5-door” night cruise ship is expected to launch on August 19, bringing visitors to see Hanoi from a new perspective and enjoy Xam singing and Chau Van singing right on the ship.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang affirmed: “The 80th anniversary of National Day is a great opportunity for the capital’s tourism to accelerate, affirming its position as the cultural and tourism center of the country. We are promoting the development of self-booking tours, integrated digital maps and multilingual AI applications to enhance the customer experience.”
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said that this year's stimulus program will promote transportation advantages, expand the tourism corridor connecting via the Red River and Duong River, connecting Hanoi with Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong; at the same time, bring tourists to the suburbs of Ba Vi, My Duc, Soc Son to extend their stay and increase spending.
Many tours and services designed specifically for the September 2nd holiday
Travel agencies have designed many package tours that combine military parade events. For example, Vietravel launched the product package “In tune with the national concert” with 6 itineraries that combine a visit to the Vietnam Military History Museum.
Hanoi Tourist Corporation (Hanoitourist) focuses on heritage-related products such as bomb shelter tours at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, city tours, bicycle tours, culinary tours and night experiences. Capital Tourism Club (Captour) introduces itineraries such as “Journey of Origin – Ba Vi Awakening”, “Truc Bach Subsidized Quarter – Tram Car No. 6 – Leng keng Heritage” or “Color of Wall Flowers” in Phuc Tho.
Many major hotels in Hanoi have created special packages for the holiday. A25 Hotel said that about 90% of its 40 hotels were fully booked, especially in central districts. Novotel Hanoi Thai Ha and Novotel Suites Hanoi recorded a much higher booking rate than last year despite not being on the parade route, thanks to their convenient location and stable price policy, 15% discount on buffet food, and free for children under 16 years old traveling with their parents.
Movenpick Living West Hanoi Hotel launches “Independence Day Rise & Dine” package for 2,125 million VND/night with free buffet breakfast, 20% food discount, room upgrade and use of saltwater swimming pool.
Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake, with a direct view of Kim Ma Street – where the parade took place, is an ideal choice to watch the entire event from your room. Lotte Hotel Hanoi also offers a luxury resort package with a premium breakfast, a dining voucher at Top of Hanoi restaurant and a special gift of a macaron box in the colors of the national flag.
Hanoi Hotel, just 2 minutes away from Kim Ma Street, launched the program "Pride Holiday - Welcome National Day" with prices starting from 2.2 million VND/night, giving away "Fatherland in the heart" polo shirts and weekend dimsum buffet vouchers. General Director Richard Yit said: "We have prepared a comprehensive service plan and many special gifts for visitors".
This year, instead of being “deserted” during the holidays, Hanoi is expected to welcome a huge influx of visitors thanks to the event celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day. Many hotels and businesses have proactively joined hands with the city to create a beautiful image of a safe, hospitable and unique destination.
With a strategy of combining heritage, agriculture, community, waterways, food festivals and night products, Hanoi not only takes advantage of the "golden" opportunity during this holiday but also aims for a long-term goal: building a smart, diverse and quality tourism ecosystem.
