The authorities of Co To special zone have organized 44 ships to bring 8,850 tourists ashore to avoid storm No. 3 (Wipha) safely.

According to the Lao Dong Newspaper, the authorities and people in Co To and Van Don special zones are actively implementing specific plans to move people currently living in weak houses and lonely elderly people to safe places before the storm hits.
On the morning of July 21, speaking with Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Le Ngoc Han, Secretary of the Party Committee of Co To Special Zone (Quang Ninh Province), said that from the evening of July 20, in the special zone, it rained heavily, with light winds of level 3-4, and waves of 1-2 m high.
Ms. Le Ngoc Han informed that the call for boats to take shelter in the Co To special zone had been completed since noon on July 20. 100% of boats, local fishermen and fishermen operating in the area had been informed and warned about storm No. 3 and had entered anchorage, with a total of 571 boats.
Ms. Han added that the Co To special zone government has organized 44 ships to bring 8,850 tourists ashore to avoid the storm.
"In addition, households whose houses are not safe from storms have been supported by the government to move to safe shelters such as hotels and motels in the area. We also implemented specific plans to move people currently living in weak homes and lonely elderly people to safe places before the storm hits," said Ms. Han.

According to the Secretary of the Co To Special Zone Party Committee, the Co To Special Zone authorities have issued a notice to temporarily suspend swimming, island tours and all water activities in the area since the morning of July 20. Hotels, homestays and accommodation establishments have been asked to maintain regular contact, provide adequate supplies and coordinate with the authorities in all situations.
Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Secretary of the Van Don Special Zone Party Committee, said that it has started to rain on the island. There are more than 1,300 ships and boats in the area, but the special zone authorities have brought 1,500 ships and boats to safe shelters. The work of bringing tourists to the mainland is being carried out, but 1,200 tourists are still on the island.
