According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Hoai Phuong, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (City Police), the program attracted the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of students, along with cadres, union members and residents in residential areas. From early morning, the venue in Thanh Khe district was bustling with the laughter of children from Self Wing, Viet-Nhat, Cherry Kids kindergartens, students from the College of Commerce, Central College of Transport 5 (Thanh Tan campus), and a large number of local residents. To make the propaganda session highly effective, fire prevention officers and soldiers directly imparted basic knowledge about fire prevention, how to handle fire and explosion incidents, instructions on how to use portable fire extinguishers, how to spread fire hoses, escape in smoky environments, confined spaces and respond to hypothetical situations. The content was designed to be lively and easy to understand, helping participants access knowledge intuitively.

Pham Van Tan, a student at the College of Commerce, shared: “This is a very practical activity, helping us master escape skills and first aid in case of fire. Before, we only learned theory, now we practice so it is easier to remember and apply.” In particular, the program also introduced models that are being effectively implemented in the community such as “Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Interfamily Group”, “Public Fire Fighting Point”, contributing to enhancing the role of self-management and the ability to handle initial situations on the spot when an incident occurs. In addition, the authorities also instructed people on the use of modern equipment such as: gas masks, hand-held cutters, water jets, hydraulic ball cutters, car rescue bags, slow-lowering ropes, fire ladder trucks, specialized rescue vehicles, etc.

A highlight of the series of activities is the experience for preschool children. With the enthusiastic guidance of the authorities, the children were able to spray fire hoses, sit on ladders, and get acquainted with basic fire fighting equipment. Such visual experiences not only create excitement for the children, but also instill a sense of self-protection and fire prevention from an early age. Along with fire fighting activities, the authorities also instruct on first aid skills such as bandaging, artificial respiration, and safe movement of victims in emergency situations. In particular, students directly practice escaping from high places using ladders and specialized ropes, important skills when facing large fires in high-rise buildings.

According to the representative of the Thanh Khe Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, organizing regular programs combining theory and practice like this will help people, especially the younger generation, develop the necessary skills and reflexes, while contributing to enhancing effective coordination between the community and the authorities in emergency situations. “We hope that each student participating in the program will remember at least one escape or rescue operation. That is the foundation for building a safe community, proactive in all incidents,” the team representative emphasized.

Evaluating this activity, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Hoai Phuong, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (City Police) affirmed that this is a practical activity, responding to the Action Month on Fire Prevention and Rescue, and at the same time contributing to concretizing the goal of bringing knowledge and skills of fire prevention and fighting closer to all classes of people, starting with children and students, the future owners of the city.
