Bringing our signature products to a wider market.

The increasingly competitive landscape demands a long-term strategy to bring rural industrial products closer to consumers, thereby leveraging local strengths and boosting the local economy. In Thai Nguyen, the Department of Industry and Trade plays a key role, implementing a comprehensive approach from traditional trade promotion to digital transformation, gradually forming a sustainable consumption ecosystem for rural industrial products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, and bringing "Made in Thai Nguyen" specialties to a wider market.

Trade promotion "leverage"

Recognizing that information and communication are crucial, the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade maintains and effectively develops official information channels such as: the electronic portal congthuongthainguyen.gov.vn, the Economic and Trade Newsletter, the Thai Nguyen Provincial E-commerce Exchange, the tea website, and a product traceability system via QR codes.

Simultaneously, the acceleration of providing online public services at levels 3 and 4 has helped businesses, cooperatives, and production and business establishments access government support mechanisms and policies more quickly.

These platforms ensure a smooth two-way flow of information between regulatory agencies and the business community, while also contributing to strengthening consumer confidence through transparency in product origin and quality. In the context of modern consumption, this is considered a crucial condition for OCOP products and typical rural industrial products of Thai Nguyen to expand their markets.

Along with digital transformation, Thai Nguyen focuses on organizing and participating in large-scale, in-depth trade promotion activities linked to the unique characteristics of local products. 2025 will be marked by many successful events such as: the Thai Nguyen OCOP Trade Fair 2025, the Trade Union Tet Market 2025, the program to promote and connect the consumption of custard apples and other agricultural products of Thai Nguyen province 2025, the Thai Nguyen OCOP Agricultural Products and Traditional Craft Villages Festival associated with tourism 2025, and the Vietnamese Goods Week 2025 within the framework of the Vo Nhai Festival – the birthplace of the nation…

Notably, the exhibition space showcasing the socio-economic development achievements of Thai Nguyen province, held outside the National Exhibition Center to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, made a significant impact, contributing to promoting the image, potential, and strengths of the province to a wide audience both domestically and internationally. Alongside this, the program to promote and connect the consumption of Tan Khanh hill chickens and agricultural products of Thai Nguyen province in 2025 further affirms the value of rural products associated with geographical indications and distinctive raw material areas.

The activities organized at the Thai Nguyen - Fragrance and Beauty of Famous Tea Festival 2025 will significantly contribute to promoting and boosting the consumption of tea products in the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Director of Bac Ha Curcumin Joint Stock Company, said: "The year 2025 will leave a clear mark on trade promotion as the company fully participates in programs and events organized by the province. Through exhibition and promotional spaces, the company not only expands market connections but also contributes to creating a unique identity for Thai Nguyen products, enhancing brand recognition and strengthening consumer confidence."

Agricultural products "Made in Thai Nguyen" reach further afield.

Not only focusing on the local market, Thai Nguyen is proactively expanding the consumption space for rural industrial products through large-scale, systematic, and increasingly modern trade promotion activities. Participating in prestigious domestic and international trade fairs and exhibitions has created important "gateways" for local products to reach partners and distributors, and gradually penetrate deeper into the value chain.

Despite suffering heavy damage from Typhoon No. 11 in early October 2025, Viet Cuong Vermicelli Cooperative has strived to overcome difficulties, maintaining production and product quality. Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Director of the Cooperative, stated: "With the desire to bring vermicelli from our hometown of Thai Nguyen to more customers, the cooperative is persistently building its brand and enhancing the value of its products. Currently, the cooperative's products are sold in major supermarkets nationwide and exported to Russia, Japan, and the United States."

For Huong Van Tea Cooperative, the signing of new export orders is a positive sign, expanding growth potential and affirming the position of Thai Nguyen tea in the international market. This result stems from maintaining the quality of the raw material area, standardizing production, and proactively connecting with the market. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Director of the Cooperative, said: "The new export contract is like a breath of fresh air, helping the Cooperative stabilize production, create jobs, and provide further motivation to improve quality and take Thai Nguyen tea further."

Alongside traditional methods, the Department of Industry and Trade of Thai Nguyen province is actively promoting the use of e-commerce platforms and digital sales. From building a "Thai Nguyen Products" store on Shopee to organizing livestream sessions to promote and sell OCOP products on TikTok, local agricultural products have narrowed the gap with consumers, increased brand recognition, and expanded their markets flexibly and effectively.

Currently, Thai Nguyen has 561 OCOP products, including 10 products achieving 5-star national recognition (ranking 3rd nationwide), and 113 products achieving 4-star recognition, with 323 participating entities including businesses, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and household businesses. In 2025, Thai Nguyen will continue to affirm the dynamism of its products with 6 products recognized as typical rural industrial products at the national level, while also honoring 28 typical products and product sets at the provincial level, clearly reflecting the depth of quality, creative value, and increasingly high competitiveness of rural products in the market...

Opening up many opportunities for networking and exporting agricultural products.

Besides tea, a signature product, businesses and production facilities in the province also focus on developing many other distinctive agricultural products such as cassava vermicelli, turmeric starch, wine, and apricots. Some products have been exported to markets such as the US, Russia, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea, demonstrating a harmonious combination of traditional values and the application of modern technology in production and processing.

Mr. Choi In Jun, Director of Viet Han Showroom Co., Ltd., assessed: Thai Nguyen is a locality with great potential for long-term cooperation, especially in the agricultural sector. I expect that economic relations and exchanges between localities and businesses in Korea and Thai Nguyen will continue to be promoted, thereby expanding opportunities for connection, trade promotion and export of high-quality agricultural products, especially through e-commerce platforms.

From a mountainous midland region, Thai Nguyen is gradually asserting its position as a bright spot in the development of agricultural commodities, where traditional values are elevated through innovation, creativity, and modern technology. The journey of bringing "Made in Thai Nguyen" agricultural products to the wider market today is clear evidence of the aspiration to enhance the position of Vietnamese goods in domestic and international markets.

According to Mr. Duong Van Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, most of the province's typical rural industrial products meet OCOP standards from 3 to 5 stars and are consistently supported by the province, from investing in machinery, applying science and technology, building brands to promoting domestic and export trade. Through these programs, products not only increase their commercial value but also contribute to spreading the cultural identity and image of the people of Thai Nguyen.

Entering 2026, Thai Nguyen will continue to strengthen trade promotion programs and diversify export markets to adapt to changes in global trade policies.

The province will organize specialized workshops for each industry to support businesses in building brands, accessing target markets, and promptly grasping commitments and integration policies. Alongside this, it will promote digital transformation, developing traditional official exports in parallel with modern methods, focusing on cross-border e-commerce and participation in global e-commerce platforms.
