Putting research products into practice, contributing to ensuring sustainable social security

The products not only demonstrate the "substance" in scientific research, but also show that the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has brought about many practical results.

Bringing science into practice

Polytechnic University has produced many types of chips such as high-frequency transceiver chips for 5G systems, optical transceiver chips, power amplifier chips, etc. to serve the market very effectively.

Recently, the school also launched the "Traffic and public order monitoring system through digital cameras using artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze traffic status and detect crowds" and the system is being applied in practice by Vinh Long province.

Or, An Giang University has issued a “Recommended Process for Using Preparations” with the effect of reducing at least 15% of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers. The process is being applied in the cultivation of mint, lemon, and lemongrass and is widely used by many farmers.

The International University has a product called “Woundclot Hemostatic Bandage”, which has a fibrous and microporous structure, containing the compound “Chitosan Oligomer” which has the effect of hemostasis, antibacterial and stimulating wound healing, moisturizing, good absorption, helping to stop bleeding on the spot. The product has been completed and transferred to the Department of Science and Technology of Ben Tre province (formerly, now Vinh Long).

Many products from scientific research have been commercialized and widely used.

Meanwhile, at the Institute of Environment and Resources, there is an extremely effective "Project on applying activated carbon combined with Decolor decolorant after biological treatment of textile dyeing wastewater". Immediately after its launch, a technology transfer contract was signed between the institute and the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Nha Trang Textile Joint Stock Company.

And at the Institute of Nanotechnology, many localities are very “grateful” because this institute has an “Automatic monitoring and warning system for salinity intrusion”. Thanks to the system, the salinity and temperature of the water are sent warning messages via phone when exceeding the threshold, so the operator can activate the pump to regulate salinity. This is a national independent project, commercialized and put into use at 80 locations in the Mekong Delta.

Another example is at the University of Natural Sciences, many systems, products and solutions have been researched and successfully applied, bringing many benefits to users. That is the "Integrated system serving e-Government of Hau Giang province" which has been completed, the application is available on Appstore, CHPlay and Zalo Mini App platform, serving the entire Hau Giang province (formerly, now part of Can Tho city) with nearly 107 thousand installations and uses.

It is also the "Software for managing notarization, authentication and information lookup to prevent", completed and delivered to judicial units of Bac Lieu province (formerly, now Ca Mau), An Giang, Ca Mau.

Pioneer in implementing Resolution 57

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City National University proposed to the Prime Minister to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW with the Program "Improving training capacity and basic scientific research integrated with strategic technology at Ho Chi Minh City National University to reach advanced levels, on par with the region".

Not only stopping at “proposals”, many institutes and schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University have launched 163 products; many of which have been implemented in practice, bringing many benefits to localities, ensuring social security in many disadvantaged areas, creating benefits through commercialization to have revolving funds to serve scientific research work.

As the leading center of science, technology and innovation in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City National University also proactively signs cooperation agreements with businesses to train high-quality human resources in line with practical needs; at the same time, the parties also cooperate to build and operate integrated education-production models.

For example, the University has partnered with VNG Corporation to train at least 1,000 students. In return, VNG has invested VND25 billion to support research projects of lecturers and students.

Ho Chi Minh City National University has cooperated with Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company to research and propose a modern, cost-saving social housing model; at the same time, build a training program for AI human resources specializing in construction.

Another successful collaboration of Ho Chi Minh City National University is with Thanh Thanh Cong-Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, focusing on biological products for precision agriculture, promoting innovation and technology application in the agricultural value chain.

In addition, the University also cooperates with PepsiCo Vietnam to develop sustainable packaging solutions and technology to reduce plastic waste; and with DNA International Hospital to research stem cells, exosomes, and regenerative medicine, etc.

In fact, from the successful scientific research products that have been commercialized and widely applied... of Ho Chi Minh City National University, the "3 houses" together participate in building research goals; at the same time, share financial benefits from the application results. When the "strategic triangle" operates effectively, the country will have the opportunity to "take shortcuts, get ahead", escape the middle-income trap and rise strongly.

The above practical, continuous and proactive activities are still aimed at effectively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW; at the same time, associated with Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development, based on the "3-house" cooperation model.

Accordingly, the State provides infrastructure, preferential policies on tax and finance, ensuring synchronization between urban planning and science and technology orientation. The School is the place to conduct basic research; at the same time, develop applied solutions. Enterprises will take the lead in commercializing research products, spreading value to the market.
