Military Hospital 354 is one of the first military hospitals to deploy 5 smart medical kiosks that exploit population data, using chip-embedded citizen identification cards combined with facial recognition and QR codes to identify and receive people coming for medical examination and treatment.

Among the technology systems being deployed, electronic medical records are one of the key contents in the digital transformation roadmap at Military Hospital 354.

The electronic medical records system at Military Hospital 354 is designed with the following main groups of features: administrative information management; medical records management; electronic signature and authentication. With a synchronous approach and a clear implementation roadmap, to date, Military Hospital 354 has recorded many important initial results.

Initial results show clear effectiveness in reducing administrative procedures, increasing data accuracy, reducing the use of paper documents and improving overall management capacity.

During the medical examination and treatment process, patients only need to use a single barcode to carry out the entire process, without having to print out a prescription or carry paper records. Medical examination orders and prescriptions are directly linked to the pharmacy counter, helping to prepare medicine for patients, shorten waiting time and reduce the load on the medicine dispensing area.

After the survey, the council reviewed and commented on the groups of infrastructure criteria and hospital information system (HIS) criteria, image archiving and communication system (RIS/PACS) criteria, laboratory information system (LIS) criteria, non-functional criteria, information security and safety criteria, electronic medical record (EMR) criteria...

The Council also pointed out the remaining issues, gave suggestions on the goals and orientations for digital transformation as well as building a smart hospital at Military Hospital 354 in the coming time.

The Council voted to evaluate and unanimously approve the electronic medical record appraisal file of Military Hospital 354 that meets all the following conditions: using and storing electronic medical records instead of paper medical records; storing and transmitting medical images instead of printing films and storing test information instead of printing paper, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health .
