The event was attended by Mr. Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports ; Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department; and top domestic and international athletes competing at the tournament.

The year 2025 marks a strong development of the race when attracting about 2,500 international athletes from nearly 70 countries, nearly double compared to the 2024 season. This impressive growth continues to affirm the position of Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi as the race with the largest number of international athletes in Vietnam, while creating more opportunities for the Vietnamese marathon to reach the regional and world level.

The race takes place from November 7 to 9, with November 8 being for the 5km distance and the 2.1km run for children; November 9 is for the three main distances of 42km, 21km and 10km.

This year, the tournament marked a new breakthrough when for the first time choosing Quan Ngua Sports Palace - a project bearing the strong imprint of the capital's sports - as the starting and finishing point.

The unique finish line along West Lake, nearly 10km long, flat and windy, will be the highlight for athletes to break through, improve their achievements, and at the same time fully experience the cultural and historical beauty of Thang Long - Hanoi when walking through the heritages of the capital.

In addition, the Expo exhibition area opened from the morning of November 7 at Quan Ngua Sports Palace, gathering many sports, health and beauty brands, organizing interactive activities and gifts for athletes and attendees. The allocation of distances over two days according to the management agency's instructions helps reduce the impact on people's lives and improve the quality of experience for athletes.

With the message “Breakthrough, reach further - Together, we run further”, the tournament continues to receive the support of Standard Chartered Bank with more than 120 years of operation in Vietnam. The Organizing Committee offers a total prize value of more than 1 billion VND along with many gifts from sponsors, showing recognition for the efforts and sportsmanship of the athletes.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh, General Director of Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, affirmed: “The race is not only an international sporting event, but also spreads the message of healthy lifestyle, community connection and sustainable development. This is a testament to Standard Chartered’s long-term commitment to Vietnam.”

Tomorrow (November 8), thousands of athletes will take part in the first stages of the 5km and 2.1km races. The 42km, 21km and 10km races will start on the morning of November 9, promising to create a vibrant atmosphere on the heritage roads of the capital.
