| Ready-made food, sold openly in the aisles, next to butcher shops, poses many food safety risks, yet is still purchased by many people due to its convenience and affordability. |
The Food Safety Month in 2025 (from April 15th to May 15th) aims to promote awareness of food safety; emphasize the role and responsibility of organizations, individuals, and businesses in enforcing food safety laws; and strengthen inspection and supervision of food security and safety... This is not only the responsibility of functional agencies, but also a long-term "battle" that requires the active participation of every citizen. We cannot simply leave food safety to the State while consumers are contributing to the existence of unsafe food.
In reality, many of us, even knowing that food is unsanitary, still buy it because it's cheap and convenient. We know the restaurant is unhygienic, the food is of unknown origin, but we turn a blind eye. This is inadvertently supporting and sustaining unsafe food sources.
While state inspection forces cannot "cover" every street food stall and vendor, the people themselves lack the habit of choosing safe food. Many people remain indifferent to labels, do not inquire about the origin of products, and may not even know what they are eating.

At the launching ceremony of the 2025 Food Safety Action Month, in addition to urging relevant agencies to strengthen their involvement and implement effective measures to ensure food safety, the Director of the Department of Health also particularly emphasized the role and responsibility of the people. Every citizen should be a wise consumer, thoroughly researching the origin of products before using them… And to ensure people understand these regulations, relevant agencies need to do a good job of disseminating information to the public about their role, responsibility, and rights in consuming safe food.
Consumers are not only beneficiaries but also key players in the food safety chain. When you choose to buy clean vegetables, select reputable businesses, and refuse unhygienic food, you are not only protecting your own health but also putting pressure on the market to change.
This "battle" cannot rely solely on inspections or short-term media campaigns. It requires fundamental change – in consumer habits and a clear attitude from the people. Say no to food of unknown origin; be the "gatekeeper" of your family's meals.
