Ms. Le Thi Le (Hai Chau District) expressed her excitement when walking on the sidewalk of Thang Long Street, which was newly renovated and put into use at the end of March 2025. According to her, since the expansion and renovation of the sidewalk on the riverside, the street space has changed a lot. The newly built sidewalk not only creates a safe space for people to walk, exercise, and sightsee, but is also a highlight to attract tourists.
Ms. Pham Thi Nhan (Hai Chau district) said: "Since the new section of Phan Dang Luu street was completed and connected to Thang Long street, I often come here to walk and exercise." Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, who lives on Thang Long street, said that the airy and clean sidewalks of Thang Long street will contribute to developing the urban appearance of this area in a modern, civilized direction with many amenities for the community...
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Huy, Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Traffic and Agricultural Works in Da Nang, the project to renovate the riverside sidewalk landscape along Thang Long Street from Asia Park to the border of Cam Le District was invested in and built with the goal of ensuring the continuity of the riverside landscape, solving the problem of continuous connection of the riverside walking route.
The project has a landscape architecture category including trees, public toilets, gym equipment, walkways, bicycle paths, railings, etc. This is the first project in the city where the project management board has proposed to use wind chimes to create a highlight for the landscape space and shade for the area along the Cam Le River. In addition, the existing shade trees on the sidewalk of Thang Long Street will be kept intact, unsuitable trees will be relocated and new trees such as wind chimes, cow's hoof trees, fishing bamboo, purple cassia, etc. will be planted.
In particular, the riverside sidewalk along Thang Long Street from Asia Park to the border of Cam Le District: arrange a stone-based bicycle path, a natural stone-paved walking path, stone benches, seats, exercise equipment... about 2km long, 3m wide, to create a space for entertainment, walking, and exercise for people inside and outside the area; at the same time, lay the foundation for socio -economic development, create space for healthy public entertainment activities of the community inside and outside the area; preserve and embellish the landscape, strengthen the green space for the urban area in the central area, complete and synchronously connect technical infrastructure with the entire area.
In addition, the route will invest in 2 clusters of smart public toilets with automatic sensor systems to open and close doors, using high-end interior equipment, antibacterial features, and being environmentally friendly... The project will also build a new lighting system for the project, lighting the walkways; the bicycle route will be equipped with lights. The project has a total investment of 44.2 billion VND.
It is known that, along with the renovation of the sidewalk of the road, the People's Committee of Hai Chau district developed ideas and reported, proposing to the City People's Committee to have a policy to invest in building a walking route along the Han River for pedestrians, cyclists, and exercisers, with resting places, trees and grass... This walking route also connects with the mangrove forest landscape along the river with many unique species of trees, aquatic products...
