Khanh Hoa Center back Do Duy Manh scored near the end of the match, sealing a 2-1 victory for Hanoi FC at Khanh Hoa Stadium in round 12 of the V-League on the afternoon of June 25.
Hanoi FC welcomed back captain Do Hung Dung after a long injury in this match. Hung Dung initiated the attack, opening the ball for Le Xuan Tu to break the offside trap, run down the right wing, then pass inside for Pham Tuan Hai to shoot diagonally, against the direction of Khanh Hoa goalkeeper's movement, to open the score in the 39th minute.

But this goal was the brightest point of the away team in the first half, when they were at a disadvantage because they did not have a foreign player. Khanh Hoa defended tightly, separating the striker pair Tuan Hai - Van Tung. The home midfielders also freely launched long attacks to take advantage of the power of foreign player Muacir Cassama. One of them almost resulted in a goal in the 24th minute, when Cassama hurriedly shot wide of the post when facing goalkeeper Tan Truong.
The home team continued to have opportunities in the 30th minute when Ryan Ha broke the offside trap to face Tan Truong, but the French-Vietnamese player shot low and the ball went wide. Not taking advantage of the opportunity, the home team paid the price when the defense failed to catch the offside, allowing Hanoi to open the score later.
After a lackluster first half, young striker Van Tung was replaced at the beginning of the second half, making way for new foreign player Herlison Caion. If they share points, Hanoi FC will be left far behind by Hanoi Police and Thanh Hoa in the championship race. Therefore, the away team had to attack to find more goals. But when their team coordination failed, they unexpectedly scored a goal from a set piece. In the 80th minute, from a corner kick by Hai Long, center back Do Duy Manh, unmarked, easily tapped the ball into Khanh Hoa's net to raise the score to 2-1.

In the remaining 15 minutes, including extra time, Khanh Hoa tried their best to attack, but could not equalize. The best chance they created came in the 90+5 minute when goalkeeper Tan Truong ran out of the goal and missed, but Le Tien Anh's shot was blocked by Tuan Hai's head on the goal line.
Maintaining the 2-1 result, Hanoi FC is still in third place but has reduced the gap with Hanoi Police and Thanh Hoa to two and one points respectively. Meanwhile, Khanh Hoa has gone through its fifth consecutive match without a win, the coastal city team has therefore dropped to 11th place with only 12 points after 12 matches. In round 13, Khanh Hoa will visit Ha Tinh, while Hanoi FC will return home to host SLNA on July 2.
