Following Luca Zidane's debut with the national team, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is keeping a close eye on a number of dual-national talents, and Ethan Mbappé is one name that has come to mind.

Young midfielder Ethan Mbappe became the center of attention.

Ethan Mbappe, the younger brother of Kylian Mbappe, currently plays for Lille and has never played for France at the highest level. With Algerian roots on his family's side, the 18-year-old is a target for the FAF.

Previously, Luca Zidane, son of the legendary Zinedine Zidane, also officially chose the "Desert Foxes" shirt and had his first match last month, paving the way for Algeria's strategy of attracting foreign-born talents.

According to inside sources, FAF hopes Ethan Mbappe will choose the Algeria national team to develop his international career. This move is part of a long-term plan to strengthen the North African team, especially before major tournaments such as the 2026 World Cup.

In addition to Ethan Mbappe and Luca Zidane, Algeria also previously convinced midfielder Ibrahim Maza, a player of Vietnamese blood, to play for this African team.

Maza has an Algerian father and a Vietnamese mother. He was born and raised in Germany and played for the youth teams of this country. However, Maza eventually chose the Algerian national team as his official destination for his international career.

Maza has attracted attention recently when he has continuously shone in the Bayer Leverkusen shirt, showing how correct FAF's decision to convince the player early was.

In October 2025, the North African team won a ticket to the 2026 World Cup, and Luca or Maza now have a great chance to participate in the world's biggest festival, if they continue to maintain their form. For Ethan Mbappe, the offer from the Algerian team becomes more valuable.
