(QNO) - Caring for and loving each other is a beautiful, humane tradition that has existed for generations in our nation. This tradition is increasingly widespread and spread in life because it is "supported" and guided by the movement of studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings. The following stories of "helping each other" were recorded by reporters...
Veteran Ho Van Bim's Tak Xanh village is located on the high mountains of Tra Linh (Nam Tra My) with 24 households living together. The road to the roof is still not concreted, bumpy and full of sharp rocks, and the people's lives still face many difficulties. Many years ago, cassava was not enough to satisfy the hunger of his family members, so Mr. Bim always struggled to find a way to change his life.
Before 2005, seeing people in the area getting rich from Ngoc Linh ginseng, he used all his savings to buy 28 ginseng roots to plant. When the military enlistment order came, he left the garden for his relatives to join the army, but his mind was still troubled by how to make more money from this valuable plant.
“As soon as I returned to my village from demobilization, I went to another village to learn from experienced growers and apply them to my garden. The first time I sold 24 million VND, I used all that money to buy B40 nets and ginseng seedlings to expand the garden area. “Eating and sleeping” with the ginseng garden, I now have 2,000 ginseng plants,” veteran Bim told the story. When people gradually realized that ginseng had high economic value, many people in Tak Xanh village also grew it. However, due to poverty, many people did not have the capital to buy seedlings. Veteran Ho Van Bim decided to give ginseng seedlings to people in the same village.
Giving away ginseng seeds is to encourage people to take care of and work for themselves, so Mr. Bim also set conditions when giving away ginseng seeds: that household must go on duty and patrol to protect the common ginseng garden, commit not to sell the ginseng plants he gave them and not to steal each other's ginseng.
“These ginseng roots are for breeding, so that the villagers have more seeds to share with the villagers, so they cannot be sold... Regularly, I go with the villagers to the ginseng garden to check and manage. Any household that does not follow the instructions and sells it for spending money will not be helped anymore. Only then will the villagers be able to work diligently,” said Mr. Bim.
Mr. Ho Van Bim's kindness is always full like a stream in a mountain stream. Whenever he sees something that needs to be done that is beneficial to the community, he does it immediately.
Party member Ho Van Phong - Tra Linh commune For a long time, villagers in the high mountains did not know the time, they only relied on the sound of roosters crowing and the shadow of the sun to know how to wake up and go to work. Veteran Ho Van Bim saw this and went down to Tak Po to buy each family a wall clock and gave it to the village party cell so that they could hold meetings on time.
Mr. Phong added: “Along with helping villagers, Mr. Bim also donated stone benches to schools and commune health stations... Those small but meaningful actions made the villagers love each other more, know how to share and unite. From then on, every family knew how to make a living so that their children would not go hungry and have food and clothes.”
Ha Van Dat - an 8th grade student at Nguyen Ba Ngoc Secondary School (Binh Tri Commune, Thang Binh) is the youngest of three children. Her husband died early, leaving Le Thi Thuy Hang (Dat's mother) to raise three children alone. Ms. Hang confided that for nearly 14 years since her husband passed away, she has been working every day at straw mushroom farms near her home to earn money to raise her children.
However, all the effort was not enough to feed a family of four, the family was always short of money, the brick house was dilapidated but there was not enough money to repair it. Dat's eldest sister had just gotten married, and the older brother did not have a stable job and had to depend on his mother. Mrs. Hang's greatest hope was placed on her youngest son because Dat was diligent, studious, and knew how to help with housework. She hoped that her son would study well, have a stable job, and be useful to society.
Understanding the situation of Ms. Hang's family, the Veterans Association of Binh Tri commune has adopted Dat from the 2022-2023 school year with a support level of 250-300 thousand VND per month.
Mr. Le Van Hau - Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Binh Tri commune said that although the amount of money is not large, he hopes to share some of the difficulties with his family, creating motivation for Dat to strive to rise up and not fall into bad habits.
Mr. Le Van Hau said that from 2019 to now, the Association of War Veterans in Binh Tri commune has sponsored 12 children, providing support each year, depending on the family's circumstances. In the 2022-2023 school year alone, the association will sponsor 2 children with difficult family circumstances, orphans, with a monthly support level of 250,000 - 300,000 VND. This amount is mobilized by the Association of War Veterans from benefactors and taken from monthly contributions from members. In addition, the association also gives gifts to the children on holidays and Tet and awards scholarships to children with good academic achievements.
“In sponsorship cases, we connect with schools so that the principal and teachers can understand the situation and pay more attention to the children. At the same time, we can grasp their attitudes and academic achievements to promptly encourage and support them. We are determined to maintain this model so that more students with difficult circumstances can have the opportunity to go to school like their peers,” said Mr. Le Van Hau, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Binh Tri Commune.
After a few shy minutes, student NTK (Nguyen Hien Secondary School, Phu Thinh Town, Phu Ninh) also confided to us: “I don’t like going to school, so even though I knew the exam schedule, I still tried to oversleep. Teacher Nguyen Minh Tham found out that I didn’t come to the exam room, so he came to my house to wake me up. I was really bored at that time, so I refused to go to the exam. The teacher confided in me like a father to his daughter, and I realized that I was still too immature, so I immediately followed the teacher to school to take the exam,” K. said.
Since then, this student has been diligent in going to school and despite her poor academic performance, K. is still confident that she will complete middle school.
As for Le Bao Han (7th grade student, Nguyen Hien Secondary School), the conversations with her respected teacher (retired) were the source of her diligence in studying. At that time, Bao Han was somewhat slower than her friends and had difficulty communicating, so her academic performance was still weak. Luckily, she was able to study at a school where teachers never abandoned students. Seeing that Han was at a disadvantage compared to her peers, the teachers guided her by giving her extra lessons. And most of all, the teachers helped her overcome her communication shortcomings.

At this school, K. and Han's story is not unique. Dozens of students who are not obedient or do not study well have been guided by teachers to help them grow up day by day.
According to teacher Vo Van Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Vice Principal of Nguyen Hien Secondary School, based on the fact that many students in rural areas have difficult family circumstances and have not focused on studying, the school's Party Cell held a meeting and agreed to help them by providing tutoring and accompanying disobedient students.

Mr. Trieu Phuc Cuong - Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Thang Binh district said that the program of sponsoring war veterans started in 2000. Previously, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in Thang Binh district focused on sponsoring children of members in difficult circumstances. In the past two years, the association has started to sponsor children of families in difficult circumstances and orphans.
In the 2022-2023 school year alone, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in Thang Binh district will sponsor 19 students. Of which, 3 schools sponsored by the Association of War Veterans will receive continuous support from now until they graduate from university. The sponsorship fund is mobilized by the Association of War Veterans from businesses, agencies, units, philanthropists and voluntary contributions of members.
In the mountainous district of Nam Tra My, based on the guidance of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has promoted widespread, regular, and systematic propaganda of the main contents of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in many diverse, rich, practical, and vivid forms to cadres, party members, and people.
In particular, propaganda work on social networks, the district's electronic information page, conferences of reporters, propagandists and activities of socio-political organizations are the best channels for access.
“We focus on propaganda for youth, students, ethnic minorities, and remote areas. Local radio and television have increased the length of their columns to praise typical examples of progress, good people, good deeds... to spread the learning from Uncle Ho's example,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Can, Head of the Propaganda Department of Nam Tra My District Party Committee.
At the same time, Party committees, agencies and units in the district have had many different ways to commend typical examples in studying and following Uncle Ho, such as at flag-raising ceremonies and activities on Directive 05 on the first Monday morning of the month; Party cell meetings, agencies, units, diaries on following Uncle Ho's teachings... to spread examples of everyday life and meaningful deeds in society.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the effectiveness and breakthrough in implementing the study and follow of Uncle Ho in the past 5 years has been affirmed with the result that more than 1,000 models have registered to study and follow Uncle Ho in all fields.
Many typical advanced collectives such as the Provincial Police Party Committee implemented the model "Each scout is a flag - Day and night, attacking and making achievements on the virtual front line"; the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee has the model "People's livelihood projects, deepening the affection between the commune and the station"; young people like Luong Phi (Nam Phuoc town, Duy Xuyen) have the will to overcome adversity, are full of compassion; Mr. Bhling Hanh (Cong Don village, Zuoih, Nam Giang) diligently records and collects the values and cultural identities of the Co Tu people to pass on to future generations...
In order for the movement to study Uncle Ho to come into life, the leader of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department believes that it is necessary to step up propaganda and mobilize the masses to participate in patriotic emulation movements, attracting the participation of the whole society. The implementation of patriotic emulation movements and campaigns must be put into practice through specific actions and models to be widely disseminated in order to push back the phenomenon of "waiting", "depending", "stagnating" of a part of cadres, party members and people. Especially the situation of fear of making mistakes, fear of responsibility, not daring to do...
From there, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style truly become the solid spiritual foundation of social life. In addition, it is necessary to promptly discover, praise and widely propagate typical individuals and groups, and good practices in studying and following Uncle Ho.
