Gianna Nannini.
Age is no problem for Gianna Nannini - who turned 70 this past June.
Gianna Nannini's career has now spanned decades, but her "rebellion" remains as intact as the first day, with a timeless soul.
Gianna Nannini Discovers Rockability From a Scream
Gianna Nannini was born in Siena on June 14, 1954. She is the daughter of Danilo Nannini, a confectioner and president of Siena Calcio Football Club for many years.
Nannini spent his childhood with his brothers, including Alessandro - the eldest, a former Formula 1 racing driver, and Guido - the youngest, who was involved in the family business.

Music has always been a part of Nannini's life. She learned piano when she was in high school and has been involved with music ever since.
However, an accident in her family's pastry shop cost her two knuckles on her left hand and forced her to stop studying classical piano at the Lucca Conservatory in her fifth year.
Nannini later said: "When the accident happened, I let out a terrible scream. My rock voice came out from that scream. I was insured for 2 million lira and I used this money to pay for my escape to Milan."
Upon arriving in Milan, Nannini began to present herself to various recording companies. After rejecting a contract offered by Ariston – which aimed to her as a "traditional singer" – Nannini became a member of the group Flora Fauna Cemento as a female vocalist.

In 1975, her first album "Gianna Nannini" was released. But real success came after her experience in America, which allowed her to get closer to rock music.

This was followed by the album "California" in 1979. Since then, Nannini's career has been filled with successes: from the album "Latin Lover" (1982) produced by Conny Plank to "Puzzle" (1984), which included the single Fotoromanza which brought her a victory at the Festivalbar.
From 1986 to 1987, Nannini's album "Profumo" was released, which went double platinum in Italy, thanks in particular to the songs "Bello e impossibile" and "Maschi e altri". Her success was also great abroad, especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Entering the new millennium, Nannini's career also flourished: releasing more than 10 albums and collaborating with many famous artists such as Fabri Fibra, Giorgia, Tiziano Ferro, Marco Mengoni, Vasco Rossi, Massimo Ranieri, Enrico Nigiotti and Francesco De Gregori.
Most notably, in 1989, Nannini recorded the single "Un'estate Italiana" (Italian Summer) - the official song of the 1990 World Cup in Italy - with singer Edoardo Bennato.
At the 1990 World Cup, the audience may forget the pragmatic playing style of the teams, but there is one thing that will always remain in everyone's memory, and that is this legendary song.
34 years have passed, but the hearts of football fans still beat faster when they hear the melody of Italian Summer .
According to sports website Sportskeeda, the song topped the music charts of several European countries such as Italy and Switzerland from January 1990 to September 1990. The song also broke all records and became the best-selling single in Italy at that time.

Nannini is now happily married to Carla, a woman she has known for 40 years. They have lived in London for a long time, but now reside in Milan, Italy. Although Nannini has repeatedly stated that she “doesn’t believe in marriage,” the arrival of her daughter Penelope convinced her to do so.
Previously, in 2010, Nannini broke age and stereotype standards when she had a child at the age of 56. Penelope Jane was born on November 26, 2010 in Milan by natural birth.
For Nannini, 2024 is a really important year. She has a duet with the young singer-songwriter Rose Villain at Ariston Records, competing at the Sanremo 2024 festival with a medley of hits.
Furthermore, Nannini has been a huge presence in Italy. She has given interviews, released a new album "Sei nel l'anima" (in March), and appeared in the film "Sei nell'anima" released on the streaming platform Netflix since May.
The film recounts Nannini's darkest times - the times when rebellion became the core of her emotions.
For this reason, the film is not just a simple biopic, but a real journey into Nannini's life and soul.
