On the afternoon of November 21, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held a press conference to provide information about the Ca Mau Shrimp Festival and the Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2023 with the theme "Ca Mau Shrimp - Proud of Vietnamese Brand", taking place from December 10 to 13 in Ca Mau city.

The Organizing Committee said that in 2023, for the first time, the Ca Mau Shrimp Festival and the Mekong Delta OCOP product connection forum will be organized on a regional scale to demonstrate the harmony between the traditional cultural colors of the nation and the contemporary and modern cultural colors. Thereby, creating an atmosphere of solidarity, expressing the respect and hospitality of local people towards domestic and international tourists and friends.
The opening ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. on December 10 with a theatrical form bearing the mark and characteristics of the land and people of Ca Mau.
Exhibition and trade booths of food , equipment, production lines, processes, shrimp processing technology; industrially processed shrimp products, products processed from shrimp by-products; high-tech shrimp farming models; specialty booths, seafood (fresh); display of typical OCOP products of localities in the Northern provinces, the Mekong Delta region and Ca Mau province.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, said that shrimp is a daily food in family meals and a spiritual product as well as in spiritual worship. Shrimp farming is also crystallized in festival activities, exhibitions (machinery, equipment, food, shrimp products, etc.). "Evenin education now, Ca Mau shrimp is included in local educational culture; shrimp in humorous stories;... We must find a way to highlight the image of shrimp in this event," said Mr. Luan.
In addition, the “Street Parade” festival, taking place at 4:00 p.m. on December 10, will move along the streets of Ca Mau city in the form of a convoy of vehicles decorated to honor Ca Mau’s products; cultural and artistic activities, lion and dragon dances, festival drums, street circus, etc.
On this occasion, Ca Mau province also organized a conference to summarize the tourism development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta; a conference on "Connecting trade of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region"; a conference on "Current situation and solutions for sustainable development of the shrimp industry";...
