Traditional meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Navy

On the afternoon of April 28, in Cam Ranh City, the Navy held a traditional meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7, 1955 - May 7, 2025). Attending the meeting were Rear Admiral Nguyen Anh Tuan - Commander of Naval Region 4; Lieutenant Colonel Bui Xuan Binh - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Naval Region 4; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; local leaders in the stationed areas; former heads of the Navy Command and Navy units in the South Central and Central Highlands regions through the periods; relatives of martyrs of Naval Region 4 and officers and soldiers.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the proud tradition of “70 years of protecting the sea” through precious documentary films; shared stories of previous generations and fueled the will, determination and belief of today’s young generation to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Xuan Binh expressed his pride that since the historic milestone of May 7, 1955, the Coastal Defense Department was born, the predecessor of today's Vietnam People's Navy. On the 70-year journey of building, fighting, winning, growing, and advancing straight to modernity, generations of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy have constantly trained, fought bravely, and achieved glorious feats. From the victory in the first battle to repel the Ma Doc ship, the legend of the Ho Chi Minh trail at sea contributed to the complete joy of the great victory in the spring of 1975... to the heroic sacrifices at Truong Sa, DK1 Platform. All have portrayed the beautiful, resilient image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the Navy soldiers.

The meeting is an opportunity to express deep gratitude to generations of Navy officers and soldiers who have devoted and sacrificed their lives in the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Thereby,educating officers and soldiers about the tradition of the Service, the heroic Navy Region 4 as a foundation for building a sense of responsibility, motivation to strive and determination to excellently complete all tasks.
