According to coach Nguyen Thai Linh, perhaps because it was established late, the national team currently has 2 coaches and 23 athletes gathering at the National Training Center. However, although the departure date is near, many training equipment are still lacking and have not been fully provided.

Specifically, the team is currently practicing at high intensity but only has 4 sets of armor, and there are not enough practice sticks (rattan sticks) so they have to wrap and glue them together to practice, although FPT Polytechnic College has previously provided some support.

"With high training intensity, the practice sticks break very quickly. Some sticks are stripped or broken but not completely separated, the students still wrap them with tape to continue practicing and overcome difficulties" - Coach Thai Linh clearly stated when talking to the press.

On April 26, responding to this issue, a representative of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training said: "The equipment for stick fighting is related to the State's regulations on weapons management and bidding. This year, the SEA Games is organized early, so it is very difficult. But we guarantee that we will have enough for the national team to compete in the 32nd SEA Games."
