Coffee price today June 24, 2025: Forecast to decrease further

The domestic coffee market has continued to be gloomy in recent days, with trading activities remaining sluggish. Although coffee prices have fallen sharply compared to the peak period at the beginning of the year, farmers are still determined to hold on to their goods, refusing to sell at the current price. However, due to the impact of the decline in the world market, domestic coffee prices are still under further downward pressure.

Since May, global coffee prices have fallen across the board as many countries enter their harvest season, with most experiencing bumper crops. Despite global weather conditions negatively impacted by climate change, production remains positive thanks to high coffee prices, which have encouraged farmers to invest more in crop care and productivity.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 823,900 tons of coffee, earning 4.7 billion USD. Although output decreased slightly by 0.6% compared to the same period last year, export turnover increased sharply by 62.3%. The average export price reached 5,709 USD/ton (including processed coffee), 63.2% higher than the same period in 2024, showing that the value of Vietnamese coffee in the international market is clearly improving.

Germany, Italy, Spain, the US and Japan remain the five largest coffee import markets of Vietnam. Meanwhile, exports to traditional markets such as the US and EU continued to grow steadily in May. Notably, emerging regions such as Africa, the Middle East and the Americas are becoming bright spots in Vietnam's coffee export structure, opening up the potential to expand market share in the coming time.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market increased sharply on two floors:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery in July 2025: Down 37 USD/ton, to 3,924 USD/ton.

Delivery September 2025: Down 115 USD/ton, to 3,852 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

July 2025 delivery: Down 9.5 cents/lb, to 324.55 cents/lb.

September 2025 delivery: Down 8.95 cents/lb, to 318.9 cents/lb.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), world coffee prices are under significant downward pressure due to abundant global supply and geopolitical instability in the Middle East. Notably, robusta coffee prices have fallen to their lowest level in many months, mainly due to favorable harvest progress in major producing countries such as Indonesia and Brazil, while crop prospects in Vietnam are also clearly improving.

The latest forecast from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) shows that Vietnam’s robusta coffee output in the 2025–2026 crop year could increase by 7% to around 31 million bags. Coffee output in Brazil is forecast to increase slightly by 0.5% to 65 million bags. Honduras is also forecast to increase output by 5.1% to 5.8 million bags.

Indonesia, one of the major robusta exporters, is expected to produce 11.25 million bags in the 2025-2026 crop year, up 5.14% from the previous crop year. Of this, robusta output will reach 9.8 million bags (up 5.38%), while arabica will reach 1.45 million bags (up 3.57%).

With the picture of continuously expanding supply and no sudden changes in consumer demand, experts believe that coffee prices this week may continue to decrease slightly or fluctuate around low levels. In the short term, analysts recommend that businesses and investors should be cautious and avoid bottom fishing when there are no clear signs of recovery.
