Pepper price today June 24, 2025: Forecast to continue to decrease this week

In the short term, the pepper market is forecasted to continue trading in a narrow range with a slight downward trend or sideways, fluctuating around 100 - 300 VND/kg. Many businesses are focusing on monitoring the technical support price zone around 123,000 VND/kg to assess the opportunity to buy again if positive signals appear.

Market information shows that new orders from the US in June remain very low, while Europe is not in a hurry to sign new contracts but is mainly focusing on clearing inventory. The 90-day suspension of reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US is gradually coming to an end, leading businesses to expect that Washington will introduce reasonable tariffs to create new momentum for Vietnam's pepper exports.

Although China continues to import pepper from Vietnam, the consumption level is not enough to offset the decline from traditional markets such as the US and EU. In this context, many Vietnamese enterprises are forced to flexibly restructure the market and adjust their distribution strategies.

The Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that pepper prices may recover by the end of the third quarter of 2025. However, in the immediate future, the downward trend will still be the main scenario in the short term.

Pepper price today June 24 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on June 23 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,452 per tonne. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,066 per tonne.

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices were unchanged from yesterday at $6,050/mt.

Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,000/ton. Meanwhile, the country's ASTA white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $11,750/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of 500 gr/l black pepper in Vietnam reached 6,000 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,100 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,000/ton.

The sharp decline in prices last week mainly reflected the unstable sentiment and lack of market support. Although there are no clear signs of recovery in the short term, experts still expect the medium-term outlook to be more positive if the global supply-demand balance continues to narrow.

The International Pepper Community (IPC) also commented that the global pepper market is on a downward trend. The rise of the US dollar, combined with escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, has made international investors more cautious about this commodity. In addition, high logistics costs continue to put short-term pressure on pepper prices.

In a notable development, late last week, Brazilian pepper exporters unanimously decided to suspend new offers through the Brazilian Spice Association (BSA), temporarily holding all inventories. This is a strategic move to limit supply to the market and slow the decline in global black pepper prices.

In the medium to long term, supplies from Brazil and Indonesia will continue to have a major influence on market trends. Indonesia is expected to start harvesting in July and August, while Brazil will enter a new harvest phase in its key producing states of Espirito Santo and Para in the second half of the year.
