Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices today, July 29, in the Central Highlands region increased sharply, fluctuating between 96,000 - 96,700 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Lam Dong province (formerly Dak Nong ) are purchasing coffee at 96,700 VND/kg. A slight increase of 1,100 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 96,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by VND900/kg compared to yesterday and were traded at VND96,300/kg.
In Lam Dong province, in Ward 1, Bao Loc, Hoa Ninh Commune, Duc Trong Commune, and Dinh Van Lam Ha Commune, coffee prices increased by VND1,000/kg compared to yesterday and are at VND96,000/kg.
Domestic coffee prices have increased by VND900-1,100/kg. However, this increase is easily affected by abundant supply in the global market. Growers are monitoring prices to sell their products and prepare warehouses for the new harvest.
Domestic spot coffee prices are currently about VND12,000/kg higher than international prices. Scarce supply forces businesses to increase purchasing prices to meet contracts. If buying power continues to be strong, domestic prices may increase further.
With 85% of coffee output destined for export, the 5% VAT creates a burden for businesses. The temporary payment of tax, which can amount to hundreds of billions of VND, puts pressure on capital. Some businesses propose to delay paying 5% of the goods to cooperatives, waiting for tax refunds to pay.
World coffee prices today
On the London exchange, the online price of Robusta coffee futures contract for September 2025 delivery closed this morning's trading session on July 29 at 3,326 USD/ton, up 3.04% (98 USD/ton) compared to yesterday's trading session; the November 2025 futures contract increased 2.44% (78 USD/ton), to 3,374 USD/ton.
On the New York Stock Exchange, compared to yesterday, the price of Arabica coffee futures for September 2025 delivery increased by 1.55% (4.6 US cents/pound), to 302.15 US cents/pound; the December 2025 futures contract increased by 1.57% (4.55 US cents/pound), to 295 US cents/pound.
From the beginning of the year to July 15, 2025, Vietnam exported more than 1 million tons of coffee, earning 5.69 billion USD, up 6.5% in volume and 66.4% in value compared to the same period in 2024. The average export price reached 5,388 USD/ton, up 48%, thanks to stable output and investment in sustainable farming.
This week, the US reciprocal tax continues to be a factor affecting world coffee prices. The US plans to impose a 50% tax on Brazilian coffee from August 2025, affecting the global Arabica coffee supply chain. This could cause US businesses to switch to importing Robusta, creating an opportunity for Vietnam, the world's second largest Robusta producer.
With the advantage of high prices and stable output, Vietnam's coffee industry is forecast to continue breaking records in the second half of 2025. Taking advantage of US tax policies can help Vietnam increase its market share in the world market.
