- Ministry of Finance is concerned that buying lottery tickets online is a disguised form of gambling.

In a document recently sent to the People's Committees of provinces and cities, the Ministry of Finance proposed to rectify the distribution of lottery tickets via the Internet. The Ministry of Finance believes that websites that purchase traditional domestic lottery products as well as distribute foreign lottery products pose many risks of causing social disorder and security, and are at risk of being exploited for disguised gambling or deceiving customers. World sugar prices have reached a 10-year high following news that India plans to limit exports, and there have been signs of hoarding and price hikes in the country. The Vietnam Sugarcane and Sugar Association has just sent a document to its members to participate in stabilizing the market and not allowing sugar prices to increase further to protect the interests of both businesses and consumers (according to Ho Chi Minh City Law).

- $1.2 billion coal power project in Thanh Hoa wants to convert to $2 billion gas power
Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just reported to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to request consideration and approval of the conversion of coal fuel to LNG of Cong Thanh Thermal Power Plant in Nghi Son Economic Zone and update it in the Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII.

It is expected that if converted, Cong Thanh Thermal Power Plant will use imported LNG, consuming 1.2-1.5 million tons/year; the plant's capacity will increase to 1,500MW. The total investment of the project will increase from 1.2 billion USD to 2 billion USD. (See more)

Gold prices on the world market continued to increase today after the US announced a series of macroeconomic data this week. The prices of SJC gold bars and gold rings both increased slightly.

Today, two banks reduced their deposit interest rates : BVBank and VIB. Meanwhile, just one day after sharply reducing deposit interest rates, OceanBank today unexpectedly increased its deposit interest rates.
