Latest pig price situation nationwide
Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 7237 to adjust the management of slaughter activities, as well as the process of controlling animal slaughter to ensure disease and food safety.
Specifically, the Hue City People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant units and localities to strengthen inspections and surprise checks in the field of veterinary medicine and food safety at animal slaughterhouses.
In addition, cases of slaughtering sick pigs or pigs that died from epidemics, as well as those that were not supervised by veterinary staff according to local regulations, must be immediately corrected and strictly handled. Slaughterhouses that are not licensed or do not ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety standards, and use prohibited chemicals and additives, will also be suspended.
Departments and branches also need to comply with the slaughter control process at slaughterhouses according to regulations. It is necessary to develop and implement coordination regulations between the government and forces such as Veterinary, Health, Police, Market Management in managing animal slaughter activities; regularly exchange information and coordinate promptly in handling issues related to animal transportation and slaughter, as well as food safety for livestock and poultry meat.
It is necessary to organize propaganda activities to raise the sense of responsibility of organizations and individuals in the fields of business, trade, slaughter, preliminary processing and processing, to ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety. At the same time, it is necessary to raise awareness among consumers about not using animal products of unknown origin and not ensuring hygiene.
The Hue City People's Committee also requested priority policies in building a centralized slaughter network, ensuring veterinary hygiene, disease safety and food safety; at the same time, implementing a food safety monitoring program for food of animal origin.
Departments, branches and sectors such as Health, Industry and Trade, Finance, City Police and related units need to participate in developing and implementing coordination regulations in managing animal slaughter activities; regularly exchange information and coordinate promptly when handling cases related to animal transportation and slaughter, as well as food safety.
Finally, the People's Committee of Hue City requested districts, towns and cities to strictly implement legal regulations related to veterinary management, quarantine and slaughter control to ensure food safety and disease safety.
