The demand for pork consumption in the market has not yet had a sudden growth.
In the northern market, the price of live pigs today is stable after a sudden increase last week. Currently, the price of pigs in Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh is being traded at 67,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region. Slightly higher, other localities buy at 68,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands market, the price of live pigs generally remained stable but there were still some places that slightly decreased. Specifically, the price of live pigs in Dak Lak and Binh Thuan both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the purchase price to 72,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, traders in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Quang Tri are still purchasing live pigs at 68,000 VND/kg. In this region, except for Ha Tinh at 67,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in other localities is still maintained around 69,000 - 70,000 VND/kg.
The live hog market in the southern region also had little fluctuation, with only a few localities making slight adjustments. In particular, the price of pigs in Long An decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, trading at 74,000 VND/kg. This is also the common price of other localities in the region such as Vinh Long, Can Tho, Ca Mau, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre... In general, the southern market is maintaining the highest live hog price in the country, fluctuating between 73,000 - 74,000 VND/kg.
In the retail market, pork prices at some stores and convenience stores are listed at 119,922 - 163,122 VND/kg. Specifically, ground pork is being sold at 119,922 VND/kg, lean pork thigh and lean pork shoulder are 122,320 VND/kg and 126,320 VND/kg respectively, and pork ribs are 128,000 VND/kg./.
