Complicated developments of cholera in Tay Ninh

According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper, African swine fever has so far affected 24 households in 14 communes and wards of Tay Ninh. The number of pigs destroyed has reached 1,035, with an impressive total weight of nearly 42 tons. This is a strong warning bell about the danger and speed of spread of the disease.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh, in the past week, the locality continued to record 2 new outbreaks in Tan Hoi commune (Tan Chau district) and Binh Minh ward (Tay Ninh city). The worrying thing is that one of them appeared at the High-tech Pig Farming Enterprise in Tan Hoi commune.

Here, 30 pigs showed abnormal symptoms such as high fever, loss of appetite, ruffled hair, arthritis and died. Test results confirmed positive for African swine fever virus. Immediately, the authorities destroyed all 258 pigs in the two infected barns, and at the same time implemented strict disinfection and isolation measures. New herd import activities at the factory were also temporarily suspended to avoid the risk of disease outbreaks.

The second outbreak was detected at the farm of Mr. Nguyen Van Quang in Binh Minh Ward. Within half a month, 12 out of 47 pigs died with typical symptoms of African swine fever. The entire remaining herd was destroyed according to regulations on July 21.

These complex developments show that the disease is not only spreading in large farms but also silently attacking small-scale livestock households, causing deep concerns about the risk of widespread outbreaks if timely and effective disease control measures are not taken. Authorities and livestock farmers in Tay Ninh are facing a fierce battle to protect the pig herd and the province's livestock industry.
