According to the forecast of the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines, the Philippines' rice import demand in 2025 will remain high. In particular, Vietnam continues to be the Philippines' leading rice exporter.
According to the Vietnam Trade Office, the Philippines' rice import demand in 2025 and the following years will remain high because domestic production capacity cannot be improved quickly. However, the country's rice price regulation policy may affect profits, cause psychological instability for importers, and impact Vietnam's exports.
At the same time, the Philippines can find new sources of supply to reduce its dependence on Vietnam. Therefore, rice exporters need to maintain their position in this market while expanding opportunities in other markets.
