Rice price today May 28: Market fluctuates slightly

Rice prices today, May 28, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly. The market has a small volume, domestic rice of all kinds is relatively stable, fresh rice prices are stable, but some raw rice export products have increased and decreased in opposite directions compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,300 - 5,500 VND; the price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,800 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,800 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates at 6,650 - 6,750 VND/kg.

In many localities today, dry rice transactions are slow, selling prices are high; the source of early summer-autumn rice is mixed, prices fluctuate slightly. In Tien Giang, buying and selling transactions are slow, some traders bought at high prices and now sell again. In Long An, new rice transactions are quite slow, traders buy sparingly. In Can Tho , demand for new summer-autumn rice is still slow, prices are stable.

In Dong Thap, the rice harvest is sporadic, purchasing power is slow, and prices are relatively stable. In An Giang , the Summer-Autumn rice harvest is sporadic, buying and selling is slow, and prices are stagnant. In Kien Giang, the Summer-Autumn rice harvest at the beginning of the season is low, traders are slow to buy, and prices fluctuate little.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently raw rice 5451 increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 9,500 - 9,600 VND/kg; raw rice OM 380 decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 8,050 - 8,250 VND/kg; raw rice IR 504 fluctuated at 8,250 - 8,350 VND/kg; raw rice CL 555 fluctuated at 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; raw rice OM 18 fluctuated at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 fluctuated at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

As for by-products, the prices of by-products fluctuate from 7,500 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice fluctuates at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; bran prices fluctuate at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Recorded in localities today, the supply of 50404, OM 380 varieties is low, prices fluctuate little, warehouses ask to buy moderately. In An Giang, the supply is low, buying and selling transactions are regular, prices are stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), in terms of quantity, prices of all types of rice fluctuate little. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), buying and selling transactions are still slow, prices are stable.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND14,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices are relatively stable compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 397 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 325 USD/ton.
