Pepper prices today in the country
This morning, pepper prices in key production areas in Southern Vietnam were stable, with no fluctuations. The purchase price fluctuated between 151,000 - 153,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper price in Gia Lai reached 151,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau maintained the level of 152,000 VND/kg, no fluctuation.
Other localities such as Dak Lak and Binh Phuoc kept the prices at 153,000 VND/kg and 152,000 VND/kg respectively, unchanged from the previous day.
Dak Nong also kept the price at 153,000 VND/kg, no fluctuation.
After a series of strong price increases at the end of August, this price stabilization period is considered by experts to be reasonable and necessary, helping the market regain balance after many days of overheating. Although it has not increased, the current price is still much higher than the same period last year and brings positive profits to farmers.
In the short term, pepper prices are forecast to remain high if supply is limited, supported by import demand for the year-end holiday season. The key factor in the coming months will still be import demand from China and the US, the two largest markets for Vietnamese pepper. To maintain growth, businesses need to focus on improving quality, meeting quarantine requirements and traceability from high-end markets.
