Bac Ninh: More than 7,200 ethnic minority students receive rice support from the Government

BAC NINH - Implementing Decision No. 879/QD - UBND dated September 13, 2025 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on the allocation of rice to support students in the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year and supplement the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year according to Decree No. 66/2025/ND-CP dated March 12, 2025 of the Government, the Department of Education and Training of the province coordinated with the State Reserve Department of Region VI to organize the transportation and delivery of rice to communes and schools for distribution to students eligible for benefits.

Accordingly, the whole Bac Ninh province has more than 7,200 students receiving 634,800 kg of additional rice for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year and the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year. Of which, 8 mountainous communes of Son Dong district (old) have 2,533 students receiving 144,540 kg of rice, with a rate of 15 kg of rice/month/student. The commune with the most students receiving the most subsidies is Son Dong with 1,489 students, followed by An Lac commune with 139 students, Yen Dinh commune with 235 students, Van Son commune with 155 students, Duong Huu commune with 207 students, Tay Yen Tu commune with 125 students...

School representatives received rice to deliver to ethnic minority students.

These are ethnic minority students, living in areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions, studying at primary schools, middle schools, high schools, continuing education centers, and are boarding students. Thereby, promptly encouraging students to study with peace of mind and actively practice.

Rice support is to ensure the rights of students according to Decree No. 116/2016/ND-CP dated July 18, 2016 of the Government stipulating policies to support students and general schools in communes and villages with special difficulties; Decree No. 66/2025/ND-CP dated March 12, 2025 stipulating policies for nursery children, students, and trainees in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, coastal and island areas and educational institutions with nursery children and students enjoying policies and related documents of the Central and the province.
