World gold price today 05/06/2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 am today, Vietnam time, was 3,310.47 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 2.2% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,434 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 105.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 14.3 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World gold price developments in the past 24 hours.

According to Reuters, world gold prices increased by more than 2%, boosted by a weakening US dollar and safe-haven demand, while the market awaits a policy decision from the US Federal Reserve later this week.

Spot gold rose 2.3% to $3,315.62 an ounce by 9:44 a.m. ET (1344 GMT). U.S. gold futures rose 2.5% to $3,324.50. The dollar index (.DXY) fell 0.5%, making bullion cheaper for holders of other currencies.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday announced a 100% tariff on foreign-made films, raising concerns about the potential consequences of a global trade war.

"We're seeing continued safe-haven demand flows, keeping gold prices elevated... Prices will trade above $3,000 at least in the short term. I don't think any rate changes are expected at this meeting, but we'll be watching to see if the Fed leans in any particular direction," said Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco Metals.

Traders are awaiting comments from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell expected on Wednesday for clues on the central bank’s interest rate path. The Fed has kept its policy rate in a range of 4.25%-4.50% since December.

The Fed is expected to leave interest rates unchanged at this meeting, but this could be the last time the outcome is this clear as Trump's tariffs cast a shadow of uncertainty over the economic outlook.

Gold, seen as a hedge against uncertainty and tends to thrive in low-interest-rate environments, has hit multiple record highs and is up 26.3% year-to-date.

Goldman Sachs expects gold to continue to outperform silver but notes that, given the strong correlation in flows, new gold demand in 2025 is likely to also boost silver prices.

Spot silver rose 1.3% to $32.39 an ounce. Platinum rose 0.4% to $963.76. Palladium, meanwhile, fell 0.7% to $947.15.
