World gold price today April 9, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4am today, Vietnam time, was 3,007.59 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.74% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,074 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 94.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 5.7 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices have rebounded above $3,000 an ounce as a weaker dollar and escalating trade tensions between the world's two largest economies boosted demand for the safe-haven asset.

Spot gold rose 0.8% to $3,007.69 an ounce by 10:58 a.m. ET (1458 GMT), off a more than three-week low hit on Monday in a correction from last week's record high of $3,167.57. U.S. gold futures rose 1.6% to $3,021.90.

"Despite falling for three consecutive sessions, gold remains bullish with trade tensions and the prospect of lower US interest rates adding to its appeal. A solid break above $3,055 could open the door to a return to $3,100 and $3,130. Sustained weakness below $3,000 could see gold slide to $2,950 and $2,930," said Lukman Otunuga, senior research analyst at FXTM.

Gold, often used as a safe store of value during times of political and financial uncertainty, has gained 15% so far this year. In addition, the US dollar index (DXY) has fallen against its rivals, making bullion cheaper for holders of other currencies.

Investors are now looking ahead to the minutes of the Federal Reserve's latest policy meeting, due out on Wednesday, for further clues on the path of interest rate cuts. Traders are pricing in a roughly 40% chance of a rate cut in May. Non-yielding bullion tends to thrive in a low-interest-rate environment.

“The significant increase in interest rate cut expectations in recent days suggests that gold prices will soon rise again,” Commerzbank said in a note.

Meanwhile, spot silver rose 0.1% to $30.15 an ounce, platinum rose 0.2% to $915.25 and palladium fell 1.23% to $907.43.
