The valedictorian of Le Van Thiem Secondary School scored 26.25 points.

After days of anxious waiting, the results of the 6th grade entrance exam at Le Van Thiem Secondary School brought unexpected joy to Nguyen Doan Thuy Duong and her family, along with the teachers and students of Nguyen Du Primary School ( Ha Tinh City).

Surpassing nearly 1,100 candidates, Thuy Duong became the valedictorian of the 2025-2026 school year at the province's top-quality secondary school (with 9 points in English proficiency; 9 points in reading comprehension; 8.25 points in Mathematics). This remarkable achievement is not only her pride, but also a special gift that she dedicates to her family, teachers and the primary school where she has been attached.

Ms. Doan Thi Ky - Thuy Duong's mother shared: "Right after the competency test ended, Thuy Duong checked and compared her work. Her actual score was quite close to the initial predicted score, but the most surprising thing was that she became the student with the highest entrance score. This achievement of hers is not only the result of her own efforts but also the result of the care and education of her teachers and the school."

Thuy Duong is the eldest in a family of 3 children. Her father is a soldier working far from home, her mother is a nurse at the Center for Social Work - VocationalEducation for the Disabled in Ha Tinh province, so her work is very busy. Sharing her mother's hardships, since the first years of primary school, Duong has been very obedient and self-disciplined in her studies. With the encouragement and guidance of her mother and teachers, Duong also set a goal for herself early on to strive to become a student at Le Van Thiem Secondary School. Even during the peak days of focusing on the competency assessment exam, there were days when Duong stayed up until 2am. Her tireless efforts and passion for learning have brought Thuy Duong excellent results.

This year, the entrance exam to Le Van Thiem Secondary School had nearly 1,100 candidates participating and the competition rate was quite high: 1/4.58.

Thuy Duong said, “Although I had prepared the knowledge carefully, when I entered the exam room, I was still very stressed and pressured. However, right after reading the questions, I regained my composure because the knowledge I had learned was within my ability. In particular, the reading comprehension section (Vietnamese) expressed my feelings about a passage in the poem "Morning Bird Sounds" by poet Dinh Hai, which I did quite well.” With a score of 9 in the reading comprehension section, Thuy Duong was also the candidate with the highest score in this section.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Hue - homeroom teacher of class 5D shared: "Thuy Duong is an exemplary class monitor, has a high spirit of self-study, and is always proactive in seeking new knowledge. She also actively participates in class and school activities, always a shining example for her classmates to follow."

Not only is she a good student and a good student, Thuy Duong is also very active in participating in knowledge and sports competitions launched by the city. In grade 4, Duong won second prize in traditional martial arts and third prize in city-level chess; and an encouragement prize for the national top talent. And last April, at the finals of the Young Top Talent Festival and the 23rd national calligraphy contest "Handwriting and Personality" for beautiful handwriting, Thuy Duong also won the Hoang Giap prize.
