From 8:00 a.m. on May 23 to 8:00 a.m. on May 24, Huong Son, Duc Tho, and Vu Quang districts experienced moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some places recording very heavy rainfall. Specifically, in Son Hong commune (Huong Son), rainfall was 161.8 mm, Son Tay (Huong Son) 114.2 mm; Tan Dan (Duc Tho) 61.2 mm; Duc Giang (Vu Quang) 56.4 mm.
It is forecasted that from now until the evening of May 25, the Ha Tinh area will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some places having very heavy rain. The estimated rainfall is from 30 - 70mm, with some places over 100mm.

To proactively respond to complex weather developments, especially the risk of heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods and landslides, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) recommends that PCTT&TKCN Steering Committees of localities need to closely monitor forecasts and warnings about heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods and landslides. At the same time, it is necessary to provide full and timely information to local authorities and people for proactive prevention.
Deploy shock troops to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides. Proactively clear the flow in areas where there are blockages and be ready to organize the relocation and evacuation of people to safety when necessary.
Organize forces to guard, control, support and guide safe traffic for people and vehicles, especially at culverts, spillways, deep flooded areas, fast-flowing water or places that have or are at risk of landslides. Resolutely do not allow people and vehicles to pass if safety is not ensured, to avoid unfortunate human losses due to carelessness and subjectivity. Arrange forces, materials and vehicles to overcome incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main roads when heavy rain occurs.

Prepare drainage plans to prevent flooding to protect agricultural production, industrial parks, urban areas and residential areas. Prepare forces and means for rescue when required. Direct local media agencies to increase information about the developments of heavy rain to authorities at all levels and people.
Mr. Tran Duc Thinh - Chief of Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control emphasized: “In addition to the above-mentioned natural disaster prevention tasks, localities need to closely follow weather developments to urge people to urgently harvest spring rice fields. Currently, rice fields in the area are ripening, very susceptible to heavy rains, flooding and falling, causing serious losses in productivity and quality. The government and functional forces need to proactively support people with human resources and means if necessary, especially in low-lying areas or households facing difficulties. This is an urgent task to minimize damage caused by floods to agricultural production”.

It is known that in the spring crop of 2025, the whole province planted 59,273 hectares. To date, localities have harvested nearly 50% of the area. In the fields, farmers are racing against the weather to harvest spring rice to preserve productivity.
