Organic rice production model in Nghi Xuan achieves yield of 6 tons/ha

On the morning of May 24, the Center for Application of Science and Technology and Protection of Plants and Livestock of Nghi Xuan district coordinated with the People's Committee of Xuan Lam commune to organize a field workshop on the demonstration model of organic rice production DT 39 in collaboration with Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company.

In the spring crop of 2025, Thong Nhat - Xuan Lam Agricultural Cooperative cooperated with Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company to build an organic rice production model with a total area of ​​12 hectares in Dong Ban area, village 1, Xuan Lam commune. The rice variety used is the short-term organic rice variety DT39, which has good cold resistance.

During the cultivation process, Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company provides input materials, including: rice seeds and organic fertilizers, biological products, biological pesticides..., and at the same time purchases all products of the model.

Accordingly, Thong Nhat Xuan Lam Agricultural Cooperative uses many synchronous production techniques according to organic processes without using inorganic fertilizers, contributing to soil improvement, increasing the number of microorganisms in the soil, reducing production costs...

Organic rice yield in association with Que Lam Group is expected to reach 6 tons/ha.

Through evaluation, organic spring rice has strong tillering, long rice panicles and many grains, good resistance to pests and diseases compared to conventional production, yield of 6 tons/ha, dry rice purchase price of 8,500 VND/kg, profit is relatively high compared to current rice production level.

The organic rice production model in Xuan Lam commune has initially brought practical results to farmers.

In the summer-autumn crop of 2025, Xuan Lam commune will continue to direct Thong Nhat Xuan Lam Agricultural Cooperative to build a 12-hectare organic rice model in Dong Ban area, in collaboration with Que Lam Group to use DT 39 rice variety.

At the workshop, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung requested the agricultural sector and localities in the district to step up propaganda and mobilize farmers to produce rice in a safe direction to reduce intermediary costs, contributing to increasing farmers' income.
