It was midnight and a moonless night, yet the sky at Kuala Lumpur International Airport was still brightly lit. Malaysian friends rolled out a red carpet with two rows of honor guards on either side and went directly to the plane to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife.
During this trip, in addition to an official visit to Malaysia – the country holding the ASEAN chairmanship in 2025 – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the following conferences: the 46th ASEAN Summit; the second ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit; and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit. Simultaneously, the Prime Minister will also participate in many other important bilateral and multilateral activities and attend numerous related forums and conferences.
During his visit to Malaysia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks and meetings with high-ranking leaders of the host country, including the Prime Minister, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia. The two sides will exchange views and agree on major directions and specific measures to implement the newly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
The visit reaffirms Vietnam's consistent policy of always valuing relations with its neighbors and ASEAN countries, including Malaysia.
Through these activities, Vietnam affirms its support for Malaysia to successfully assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025; and continues to support the building of a "Sustainable and Inclusive" ASEAN Community, united, strong, and consolidating ASEAN's central role in the regional structure.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working visit also demonstrates Vietnam's proactive and positive participation in multilateral organizations, mechanisms, and forums, contributing opinions, participating in common activities, and fulfilling responsibilities for the goals of peace, stability, cooperation, and development of each country, in the region, and in the world.
