Gold bar and gold ring prices today (December 12): World gold prices continued to increase for the third consecutive day, pushing SJC gold bars up and towards 87.5 million VND.

The price of SJC gold was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) at 84.8 - 87.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 400,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling compared to the close of yesterday's session.
DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group announced the selling price of SJC gold bars at 84.8 - 87.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 400,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to the closing price yesterday.
Meanwhile, banks such asACB , Eximbank, and Sacombank raised the highest buying price of gold bars to about 85.5 million VND/tael, and selling price to 87.3 million VND/tael.
Meanwhile, Mi Hong Company traded gold bars at a lower price, buying at 84.9 million VND/tael and selling at 86.2 million VND/tael.
Particularly, Phu Quy SJC brand gold is being bought and sold at a price 200,000 VND higher.
Thus, domestic gold prices continued to increase strongly, with gold bar prices increasing by more than 1 million VND to nearly 87 million VND/tael, and gold ring prices of some brands approaching 86 million VND/tael.

Regarding the price of gold rings, SJC Company traded 99.99 gold rings at 84.5 million VND/tael for purchase and 85.9 million VND/tael for sale, an increase of 100,000 VND per tael compared to yesterday. PNJ and DOJI companies increased the buying price of gold rings to 84.8 million VND/tael while the selling price was the same as SJC company.
World gold prices rose sharply after an important US inflation report, when the consumer price index (CPI) in November increased 2.7% compared to the same period last year, in line with market expectations. This may make investors believe that the Federal Reserve (FED) will continue its interest rate cut path at the monetary policy meeting taking place next week. When interest rates decrease, gold prices will benefit.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 83 million VND/tael.
Gold prices have been higher on the back of strong or solid CPI data, said David Meger, director of metals trading at High Ridge Futures. He said that inflation, which has not picked up further but is still stable, will allow the Fed to almost certainly cut interest rates at the next FOMC meeting.
CME's FedWatch tool showed traders see a 95% chance the Fed will cut another 25 basis points at its December 17-18 meeting, compared with about an 86% chance before the inflation report.
Additionally, WisdomTree commodity strategist Nitesh Shah said: “We expect gold prices to hit new highs in 2025, as bond yields decline throughout the year and geopolitical risks remain a driver of gold investment sentiment. We believe gold prices could reach $3,000 an ounce by the end of 2025.”
In addition to US economic data, investors will also look to Fed Chairman Powell's post-meeting comments for more details on future US policy, according to StoneX analyst Rhona O'Connell.
