At 6:00 a.m. on July 28, WTI oil price stood at 65.19 USD/barrel, up 0.12 USD/barrel, while US Brent oil price was 68.47 USD/barrel, up 0.11 USD/barrel.
According to Reuters , oil prices were supported by news that the US and EU had just reached a general trade agreement. Accordingly, the US will impose a 15% tax on goods imported from the EU. In return, EU countries will buy a significant amount of energy and military equipment from the US.

Another factor supporting rising oil prices is information from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showing that the country's crude oil inventories last week fell by 3.2 million barrels, down to 419 million barrels - double the forecast decrease of 1.6 million barrels.
In addition, one of the factors putting pressure on oil prices today is the news that the EU has just passed the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, including lowering the ceiling on Russian oil purchases to $47.6/barrel and banning the import of all refined oil products from Russia. This move could disrupt the crude oil supply chain from the world's second largest oil exporter.
