Meaningful charity tennis tournament

In its 5th year, the Diamond Cup charity tennis tournament ended on the evening of December 7 at Hoang Thien Stadium, Ward 5, District 8 (HCMC), attracting more than 100 players to compete.

This is a meaningful playground, spreading the spirit of solidarity and sharing.

Before the tournament took place, the Organizing Committee had donated 140 million VND and 2,000 notebooks (from athletes and sponsors) to give to poor families and studious orphans in District 8, specifically in Wards 4, 5, 10, 11 and 14. "We want to do meaningful and practical things for the people of District 8, especially at the end of the year. This is very valuable and is the motivation for us to organize more meaningful tournaments," said Mr. Pham Phu My, Head of the Organizing Committee.

The tournament is divided into 3 categories: gold - green - red, corresponding to the "level" of the participating athletes. For charity purposes, the athletes participating in the tournament only receive souvenir cups and prizes in kind for high rankings, but no prize money.

In the final of the gold medal table, the men's pair Nguyen Xuan Phuoc - Truong Kiem Ngon surpassed the pair Lam Quoc Viet - Dinh Thanh Tam to win the championship. The two pairs Huynh Quoc Vinh - Nguyen Toan; Nguyen The Hung - Nguyen Huy Hoang tied for third place.

The results on the green board are as follows: the pair Le Van Hai - Vo Phi Hoang won the championship, the second place pair belonged to Nguyen Xuan Tao - Tran Chi Hau, the two third place pairs belonged to Vo Van Dung - Huynh Ngoc Diep and Nguyen Van Kien - Nguyen Thanh Nhut.

In the red group, the championship was awarded to Thai Thanh Ha – Le Ngoc Tam after defeating the pair Vu Dinh Manh – Tran Quang Vinh in the final. Chu Thanh Liem – Nguyen Hong Thuan and Nguyen Van Hieu – Truong Van Toi tied for third place.
