Traditional Boat Racing Championship "National Unification Festival" 2025

This morning, April 30, on the North bank of Ben Hai River, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri organized the 2025 Quang Tri Province Open Traditional Boat Racing Championship - competing for the Huda Cup. The tournament attracted nearly 250 athletes from 18 male and female boat teams from 7 districts, towns and cities in the province, including Vinh Linh, Gio Linh, Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, Dakrong, Quang Tri town, Dong Ha city and the Boat Racing Club of Quang Nam and Quang Binh provinces.

The teams compete for 5 sets of medals in 12-rowed boats, including: women's boats at 1,000 m and 2,000 m distances; men's boats at 1,000 m and 2,000 m distances; mixed men's and women's boats at 2,000 m distance. Apply the Dragon Boat Competition Rules issued by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training (now the Department of Sports and Physical Training ) in 2010 and the latest supplementary documents.

The Traditional Boat Racing Tournament “National Reunification Festival” is held annually to help athletes and enthusiasts of this sport meet, exchange and compete on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; re-evaluate the quality of the traditional boat racing movement in localities, thereby finding solutions to promote the movement to become more widespread throughout the province. At the same time, strengthen solidarity, exchange experiences and support each other to develop the traditional boat racing movement in the Central provinces.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the First, Second and Third prizes to Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri town and Gio Linh district; and awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the teams with high achievements in 5 competition events.
