NIC Director: Need to build a localized digital economic model

In the context of Vietnam's economy shifting strongly to a model based on science, technology and innovation, localities play a key role in realizing the goal of national digital transformation.

To concretize this strategy, the National Innovation Center (NIC) coordinated with the Department of Science and Technology of Vinh Phuc province and Dassault Systèmes Group (France) to organize the forum "Building a local digital economy on the basis of high-tech supply chains."

Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of NIC, emphasized that Vinh Phuc is a key industrial center of the North, so it is necessary to deploy the construction of a localized digital economic model and closely linked with global high-tech supply chain networks.

In addition, Mr. Huy emphasized that the forum creates a space for connecting local leaders, the business community, experts and investors to discuss the direction of digital economic development. According to him, digital transformation does not stop at technology, but is a comprehensive change in development and operation thinking.

“On that basis, NIC will play a connecting role between the Government, localities, businesses and technology corporations to build a sustainable innovation model, starting from potential localities like Vinh Phuc," Mr. Vu Quoc Huy shared.

According to Mr. Huy, the main goal of the forum is to promote the comprehensive digital transformation process in Vinh Phuc, exploiting the potential of the high-tech supply chain as a strategic lever to develop the digital economy in a sustainable and creative way. This is a practical and concrete step to realize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

The forum focused on discussing high-tech solutions in building supply chains, from production, transportation to smart consumption. On that basis, the forum noted proposed mechanisms and policies to support small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the digital economic ecosystem. This is also a bridge between technology enterprises and local authorities to jointly develop a digital economic model suitable to local characteristics.

Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee affirmed that with its strategic location, diverse industrial ecosystem and high political determination, Vinh Phuc is gradually transforming strongly in the digital age.

In addition, Mr. Tran Duy Dong said that Vinh Phuc aims to promote start-up activities, innovation, development and application of scientific and technological advances, and make good use of opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution for socio-economic development. In the coming time, the province will prioritize attracting and developing high-tech electronics industry clusters to become the country's electronics industry center, continue to implement digital transformation programs, attract investment in advanced industries and international cooperation to develop a knowledge-based economy.

At the forum, advanced technology solutions from Dassault Systèmes Group and Japan's NTT Group were introduced, focusing on supply chain optimization, smart factory management and digital technology applications in production.../.
