Speaking to Zing at noon on May 2, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, said that the unit had received information from a 5-star resort that tourists had reported snakes appearing but was slow to handle the situation.

Mr. Hong said that the 5-star resort management representative explained the incident and regretted that such an unexpected incident had happened to the guests.

"From the moment the incident began, the guest's personal butler was immediately present and took safety measures by immediately moving the guest to another location. The resort's security team was also present to assist in checking the room and removing the snake from the location where it was discovered. Immediately afterwards, members of the management board also came to meet and apologize directly," the resort representative informed.

According to this person, the guest is now mentally stable and also sympathizes with the unfortunate incident that occurred. "Currently, the resort is still maintaining hygiene and safety for guests by regularly taking measures to prevent snakes and mosquitoes every week to limit similar incidents in the future," the resort representative informed.

The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province said that the 5-star resort where the snake incident occurred has many trees, so sometimes insects also enter the room. The management board of this resort has a team specializing in handling insects, snakes, mosquitoes... in the guest room. In these areas, snakes are usually non-venomous, often hiding in people's gardens.

"The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam has reminded the resort management to pay attention to providing the best services included in the hotel price and promptly and optimally handling any unexpected incidents so that guests can sympathize, share and be satisfied. At the same time, the resort needs to promptly inform the Department and the Tourist Support Center for handling," said Mr. Hong, adding that the department has assigned someone to be on duty and the Tourist Support Center located in Hoi An is always ready to support when guests need it.

Previously, on May 1, social media spread the story of a businesswoman from Hanoi who rented a room at a luxury resort in Dien Ban for up to 60 million VND/night. However, the guest had a terrifying experience when she discovered a snake in the room.

The man panicked and immediately called the resort management for intervention. It took the resort staff some time to deal with the snake. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.
