On the morning of November 25, Quang Tri General Hospital announced that after nearly a month of treatment, the health of patient HVHR (17 years old, residing in Dakrong commune) recovered quickly, with alertness and mobility clearly improved.
On November 6, R. had a traffic accident on his way home from school due to heavy rain making the road slippery. He was taken to Dakrong Medical Center for first aid for about an hour and then transferred to Quang Tri General Hospital in a serious, life-threatening condition with multiple injuries.

The male student recovered after treatment.
Diagnostic results showed that R. suffered severe damage to many organs such as abdominal trauma, femoral shaft fracture, soft tissue damage to the abdomen, back, pelvis, chest and kidney injuries.
In particular, the patient suffered a severe spinal fracture at the L2-L3 segment with extraspinal hematoma, spinal cord contusion and spinal meningeal tear, a condition that is at risk of leaving serious sequelae.
Immediately after intensive resuscitation, the hospital's specialist team performed three major surgeries to treat life-threatening injuries.
In which, the General Surgery Department performed surgery to remove and suture the transverse colon injury, and treated the blood in the abdominal cavity. The Neurosurgery Department intervened in the posterior spine, reduced the L2-L3 spinal dislocation, stabilized the damaged spinal segment with pedicle screws under C-arm guidance, and simultaneously cut the lamina, removed the extramedullary hematoma, released the compression, treated the crushed spinal cord, and patched the torn spinal cord.
The Department of Trauma and Burn Surgery performs femoral fusion surgery with locking screws and plates through a small incision, ensuring good correction of the fracture.
The leader of Quang Tri General Hospital said that thanks to the close coordination between specialized departments and the application of advanced technology, the patient overcame the critical stage. When the male student was able to sit up and smile again, it was not only a medical achievement but also a great source of encouragement for the medical team to make continuous efforts to save the patient's life.
