On the afternoon of November 25, at studio S3, Hai Phong Newspaper, Radio and Television coordinated with the City Traffic Safety Committee to organize a live TV program "Remembering the departed, for the living", in response to the World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Traffic Accidents.
Attending the program were members of the City Party Committee: Le Quy Tiep, Director of the Department of Construction, Deputy Head of the City Traffic Safety Committee; Pham Van Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Hai Phong Newspaper, Radio and Television, and representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches.
The program is broadcast live on channels and digital platforms of Hai Phong Newspaper and Radio and Television.
At the program, delegates took a minute to remember victims who died in traffic accidents; together wrote commitments to act, spreading messages for traffic safety.
Comrade Le Quy Tiep, Director of the Department of Construction, Deputy Head of the City Traffic Safety Committee spoke at the program.
The City Traffic Safety Committee informed: In the 11 months of 2025, there were 803 traffic accidents in the city, killing 427 people and injuring 551 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a decrease of 315 cases (down 28.1%), an increase of 6 deaths (up 1.4%), and a decrease of 348 injuries (down 38.7%).
During the same period, the authorities inspected and handled 99,241 violations, fined more than VND276 billion, revoked 5,128 driving licenses, deducted driving license points from 10,791 cases; temporarily detained 662 cars, 21,279 motorbikes, 956 electric motorbikes and 5,128 rudimentary vehicles.
To curb traffic accidents in the last months of 2025, the City Traffic Safety Committee focuses on implementing 4 key groups of tasks. These are to strengthen propaganda, dissemination and education of traffic safety laws; step up patrolling, controlling and handling violations of traffic safety and order; strengthen management of road and inland waterway transport activities; organize scientific and appropriate traffic regulation and guidance; speed up the overcoming and repair of unsafe traffic points.

Speaking at the program, comrade Le Quy Tiep, Director of the Department of Construction, Deputy Head of the City Traffic Safety Committee, called on every parent, teacher and individual to set an example in enforcing legal regulations, building traffic culture, raising sense of responsibility to themselves and the community when participating in traffic, especially ensuring traffic safety for children.
Everyone must strictly comply with the Traffic Law, voluntarily give way and help each other when participating in traffic, and together build a safe and civilized traffic environment. At the same time, it is necessary to comply with the provisions of the law on traffic safety and order such as: Do not drive after drinking alcohol or beer; obey the speed limit; drive in the correct lane, keep a safe distance; do not hand over the vehicle to someone who is not qualified to drive...
Representatives of businesses, organizations and associations donated funds to Hai Phong Newspaper and Radio and Television to support 13 families of traffic accident victims in difficult circumstances.
Within the framework of the program, delegates watched a reportage reflecting on the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the city and interacted with family representatives, traffic accident victims, traffic police forces, doctors... to see the consequences of traffic accidents, the silent efforts of the forces in ensuring safety, providing emergency aid to traffic accident victims, and bringing peace to every road.
On this occasion, the City Traffic Safety Committee presented 10 gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to 10 families of traffic accident victims in the city.
Representatives of businesses, organizations and associations, through Hai Phong Newspaper, Radio and Television, donated funds to support 13 families of traffic accident victims in difficult circumstances in the city.
