The multi- sport event including Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 on August 2 and Quang Tri International Marathon 2025 - Camel Cup on August 3 organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Bolt Event attracted the attention of many athletes nationwide.
According to statistics from the Organizing Committee, the tournament will have about 3,500 athletes competing in three endurance sports including open water swimming, two combined swimming and running sports (Aquathlon) and running distances (Marathon) taking place on August 2 and 3.

Notably, many of the athletes attending the event were teachers and students from various provinces and cities. The most prominent group was the group of teachers and students from the TPC Runner Club of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong. Before the tournament, Dan Tri reporter had an interview with teacher Vu Thi Lan, head of the TPC Runner Club.
Hello, I know that many teachers and students of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong, belonging to TPC Runner Club will participate in the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament. So is this the first time the school's club participates in the Aqua Warriors tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Bolt Event?
- TPC Runner Club includes teachers, former teachers, students, alumni and parents of the school. The club's goal is to spread the spirit of sports training to all teachers and students of the school, contributing to changing habits to exercise diligently, towards more regular physical exercise.
In April 2024, for the first time, there was an Aqua Warrior tournament in Ha Long (Quang Ninh). Our club had the first force of 10 teachers, students and parents participating in the content such as Full Aqua Warriors, Olympic Aqua Warriors and Sprint Aqua Warriors.
At the Aqua Warriors Halong Bay tournament last April, the club continued to participate with more athletes, especially the Nang Thien Thanh team consisting of teachers and parents participating in the Aqua Warriors Olympic distance.
Continuing the journey, the Club continues to participate in the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament with a large number of teachers, students, and parents with the goal of training and providing more summer activities for students before entering the new school year.
To participate in this tournament, teachers and students will have to travel a long distance (from Hai Phong to Quang Tri), so how are the costs raised and does the school get support from parents?
- Our group consists of students, teachers and parents, so the expenses are completely self-funded and voluntary by the families. We identify health training as a goal to improve the quality of study and work, so the members of the club are very enthusiastic about training.

The members agreed to buy tickets together, organize travel and accommodation for the whole group so that everyone would complete the competition goals well. In addition, this was also an opportunity for the members of the group to visit local scenic spots.
In this tournament, how many teachers and students of TPC Runner Club will participate and what events will they register to compete in?
- The delegation participating in the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri tournament this time includes: 4 teachers, 3 students, former students. 4 parents and family members. The youngest member is 10 years old, the oldest member is a 61-year-old former teacher.
The registered events include the Olympic Aqua Warriors (1.5km swim, 10km run) and Sprint Aqua Warriors (750m swim, 5km run) on August 2. All members will also participate in the running event on August 3 at distances of 42km, 21km and 10km.
Aqua Warriors is a tournament that requires swimming skills, especially sea swimming as well as running. So how do teachers and students plan to practice every week to be able to complete the distances in the upcoming tournament?
- Team TPC Runners has 5 members including 3 teachers and 2 parents who completed the IM 70.3km cycling race in Da Nang in 2024 and 2025.
Club members have also participated in major swimming competitions together and completed the 10km, 15km Deadfish swimming competitions, 5km swimming competitions from the big Co To island to the small Co To island and vice versa. We have also participated in the 6.8km Red River swimming competition, the 3.8km Hoa Binh Lake swimming competition.
To practice swimming, members practice year-round at four-season swimming pools, and at the end of every week on Saturday and Sunday, they swim and run at Do Son, Cat Ba, Ha Long, and Tuan Chau beaches.

Running and endurance training are often supplemented with long-distance workouts such as climbing Yen Tu, running on Thien Van hill and running with the Hai Phong Elite at a location near home.
Although newly established, regular and consistent practice has led to members being very confident when participating in tournaments and completing the competition content well.
Does the club aim to have a podium finisher in this tournament?
- The club's goal is to spread the spirit of physical exercise and physical improvement to students, teachers and family members.
Due to the nature of studying and teaching at specialized schools, it is very difficult to arrange training time, so the main goal of the club is to attract more and more people to participate in training with distances from short to long, from easy to difficult.
Every athlete entering the competition is guaranteed to finish beautifully and without injury so that they can return to their normal studies and teaching immediately after the race.
Currently, the club has 3 teachers in the school board and families participating in the races. More and more teachers, students and families are participating.
We have not set a goal for individuals to stand on the podium, but if the Organizing Committee has an award to honor the education sector, we can be confident that TPC Runners will always be Top 1 in terms of achievements and number of participants.
What do you think about the tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper, the beautiful route and competition venue like in Quang Tri?
- The tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper in Ha Long, Van Don in 2023, 2024 brought extremely wonderful experiences with beautiful routes. The tournament organizers were very thoughtful, professional and especially provided the athletes with great photo sets after the race.
Our team has never participated in any tournament in Quang Tri, but with the information from the Organizing Committee's Fanpage about the beautiful race track and impressive beach, the whole team is very eager to practice hard, looking forward to the day of real experience.
Hopefully the upcoming tournament will be a memorable experience for the TPC Runners team in the beautiful land of Quang Tri. I hope the weather will be favorable and the Organizing Committee will have a successful season.
