Steps of determination

His grandmother suffered from diabetes complications and became blind, his aunt was disabled since childhood and had difficulty walking but still dragged her damaged legs to sell lottery tickets every day, the youngest son did not have a stable job, his mother worked as a maid to earn money to pay for his two brothers' education, that was the situation of student Huynh Thanh Tuan, Hamlet 3, Lang Tron Ward. To earn money to go to school, Tuan made yogurt to sell. Each time Tuan made about 50 bags of yogurt, sold at home, when he had time he took them to sell in the neighboring area, each bag earned 1,800 VND, which was the source of expenses for him to nurture his dream of going to school.

Huynh Thanh Tuan makes and sells yogurt to earn extra money for his studies.

“There are many group activities of the class and school that I cannot participate in because of difficult family circumstances. However, I see them as challenges to improve myself,” Tuan confided.

Huynh Thanh Tuan is currently a student in class 11C12, Gia Rai High School. Over the past years, Tuan has always been a good student, achieving many achievements, proving his hard work and nurturing his dream of going to school. "I will continue to try harder and be more determined to have a stable job in the future to take care of my family, to respond to everyone's expectations and love," Tuan confided.

The 11th grade student spends his free time making yogurt bags to sell, to nurture his dream of going to school.

Nguyen Hong Phuong Thao, a student of class 11C1, Tan Phong High School, Phong Thanh commune, is also an example of perseverance in overcoming difficulties. "Since I was little, I have been aware that my situation is different from other classmates. When I come home late from school, I see my classmates have their parents to pick them up and drop them off but I don't, I feel very sad," wiping away the tears that are about to fall, Phuong Thao confided about the unfortunate things that happened to her. Lacking the love of her father since childhood, her mother remarried and cut off contact, Thao lived in the love and care of her grandparents.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Trang, Thao's grandmother, confided: "Every month, my grandfather earns more than 4 million VND from working as a security guard, all of which he spends on taking care of Thao. Even though life is still difficult, my grandparents always give me the best things, which helps to ease my sadness and give me more motivation to study and become a good person."

"Repaying my grandparents for raising me is my biggest goal," Thao shared.

Not letting down her grandparents' love, Thao achieved the title of excellent student for 11 consecutive years of studying, and became a member of the school's excellent student team. "Not having parents is not a reason for me to fall behind my friends, but I have to try harder, try to study hard to achieve good results to please my grandparents. My goal is to take the English Pedagogy exam," Thao shared.
