The 2025 Italian Film Festival is organized in Hanoi by the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam in collaboration with the Asian Film Festival in Rome.

According to Italian Ambassador Marco della Seta, this year’s festival features six outstanding and award-winning films that capture the spirit of a nation on the move. From quiet reflections on love and memory to bold depictions of resilience and resistance, these stories weave together to create a portrait of modern Italy – vibrant, restless and profoundly human.

Films in attendance this year include: Maura Delpero's "Vermiglio," which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival and will represent Italy at the 2025 Academy Awards; Valerio Mastandrea's "Nonostante" (A Better Feeling), which was honored with the Nastro d'Argento Award for best story; and Marco Tullio Giordana's "La Vita Accanto" (A Different Life), which earned him the Career Achievement Award at the 2024 Locarno Film Festival.
Also screening are "Diciannove" (Nineteen), a vivid coming-of-age story that was selected to the Venice, Toronto and London film festivals; "Gloria!", which won multiple awards including Best First Film and Best Original Score at the 2024 Italian Golden Globes; and Claudio Giovannesi's "Hey Joe", nominated for Best Sound and Best Cinematography at Italy's top film awards in 2025.

All films are shown in Italian with Vietnamese and English subtitles. Each screening is followed by a Q&A and discussion with Mr. Antonio Termenini, Artistic Director of the Asian Film Festival in Rome and the Italian Film Festival in Hanoi.
