The theme "Historical decrees and certificates related to Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands" donated to the State by the Le family in Binh Thanh, Tuy Phong, are 2 decrees and 2 original Han Nom documents, with important historical, cultural and scientific values, affirming that the Nguyen Dynasty established naval teams to carry out the task of defending and protecting Vietnam's seas and islands. The content of the decrees and certificates of the Nguyen Dynasty appointed Mr. Le Van Cham and Mr. Le Non to hold the important responsibility of leading and commanding soldiers of the naval teams to protect and patrol the seas from Binh Thuan to Khanh Hoa.
In the past 20 years, in the waters of Ca Mau and Binh Thuan, fishermen in Binh Thuan have accidentally discovered many sunken ancient ships, containing thousands of antique ceramics originating from Thailand and China with economic and cultural values and other values of traditional crafts, decorative arts on ceramics, techniques of long-distance sailing and shipbuilding from previous centuries. The artifacts and images displayed directly under the theme "Shipwreck antiques in the waters of Binh Thuan" at the exhibition such as brown glazed ceramics, a collection of Thai brown glazed ceramics, Thai eel skin glazed earthenware jars, shipwreck antiques... help us visualize the bustling trading route in the waters of Binh Thuan many centuries ago.
From the images and artifacts introduced by Binh Thuan Provincial Museum in this exhibition, the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage are once again honored. At the same time, the role and responsibility of the community in the management, preservation and promotion of historical values, resources and the environment of the sea and islands are promoted, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
