Maintain the system of 15 regional state banks

On the afternoon of June 20, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) informed that the organization and rearrangement of regional SBVs will be implemented according to the principle of keeping the number of organizational focal points at 15.

The State Bank affirmed that the arrangement ensures geographical and traffic suitability, facilitates management and direction activities in localities, and does not increase the number of regional State Bank offices compared to the present.

Accordingly, 15 regional banks include: State Bank of Region 1, Hanoi city area.

SBV Region 2 includes Ho Chi Minh City (Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong) and Dong Nai Province (Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc). Headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 3 includes 3 provinces: Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau. Headquarters in Son La province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 4 includes 3 provinces: Phu Tho (Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc), Tuyen Quang (Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang), Lao Cai (Lao Cai, Yen Bai). Headquarters in Phu Tho province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 5 includes 3 provinces: Thai Nguyen (Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan), Cao Bang, Lang Son. Headquarters in Thai Nguyen province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 6 includes Hai Phong city (Hai Phong and Hai Duong) and Quang Ninh province. Headquarters in Hai Phong city.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 7 includes 2 provinces: Ninh Binh (Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam) and Thanh Hoa. Headquarters in Thanh Hoa province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 8 includes 3 provinces: Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Quang Tri (Quang Tri and Quang Binh). Headquarters in Ha Tinh province.

SBV Region 9 includes Da Nang City (Da Nang and Quang Nam), Quang Ngai (Quang Ngai and Kon Tum), Hue City. Headquarters in Da Nang City.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 10 includes 2 provinces: Khanh Hoa (Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan), Lam Dong (Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong). Headquarters in Khanh Hoa province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 11 includes 2 provinces: Dak Lak (Dak Lak and Phu Yen), Gia Lai (Gia Lai and Binh Dinh). Headquarters in Dak Lak province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 12 includes 2 provinces: Hung Yen (Hung Yen and Thai Binh), Bac Ninh (Bac Ninh and Bac Giang). Headquarters in Hung Yen province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 13 includes 2 provinces: Dong Thap (Dong Thap and Tien Giang), Tay Ninh (Tay Ninh and Long An). Headquarters in Dong Thap province.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 14 includes Can Tho city (Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang), Vinh Long (Vinh Long, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh). Headquarters in Can Tho city.

State Bank of Vietnam Region 15 includes 2 provinces: An Giang (An Giang and Kien Giang), Ca Mau (Ca Mau and Bac Lieu). Headquarters in An Giang province.

Regional SBVs officially came into operation from July 1, in sync with the new local government system.

The current regional SBVs (except SBV Region 1 and SBV Region 2) were established on the basis of merging the previous provincial and municipal SBV branches.

Each regional State Bank will perform the function of State management of currency, banking and foreign exchange activities in 3 to 6 provinces/cities, ensuring organizational streamlining, improving management capacity and operational efficiency.
